Gloucester-based small business, Yass Clean, has launched its products in the United States (US) for the first time, just eight months after joining TikTok Shop.
Cleaning product company Yass Clean, founded by Luke Arnel-Cameron, is a business native to the platform and set up shop at the end of 2024.
Arnel-Cameron was one of the first content creators to start tapping into the potential of TikTok Shop in the UK, having become a content creator four years ago in 2021. Back then, his content as @lowpert amassed over 35 million likes as he reviewed products and gadgets for brands like L’Oreal and Dyson.
He was inspired to start his own small business after he gained a dedicated fanbase in reviewing products from both big and small brands on TikTok and noticing the huge popularity of #CleanTok, which has now generated more than 6.5 million posts on the platform.
As a result, Yass Clean was born – a business selling scent boosters and detergents prioritising affordability. Luke hosted a TikTok Shop LIVE shopping session to celebrate the launch, from the Fulfiled by TikTok warehouse, where he and his team were packing floods of orders that came in live via the platform. This first LIVE shopping session generated over £70,000 in just under 12 hours, with Yass Clean selling out of all available bundles. In the following weeks, half of its range was out of stock.
In just eight months since launching the business on TikTok Shop, the company has sold over 300,000 boxes of their products across the UK, is launching new products every few weeks and has thousands of creators reviewing and promoting its products daily.
Following the success of the LIVE launch, Yass Clean now has a dedicated streaming team that go LIVE on TikTok seven days a week. In doing so, they’re able to describe the products to viewers and answer questions about the products in real time.
Now, Arnel-Cameron’s sights are set on expansion. Yass Clean has just broken the US market (where previously it was limited to the United Kingdom) and has been selling in the States for three weeks now.
Speaking on the success on platform, Luke Arnel-Cameron said:
“I was, naturally, nervous launching my business. I’d invested everything I had and made as a creator over the last four years to build a cleaning brand, hoping that people would buy through a screen on their phone without being able to even smell the product.
“That’s where LIVE shopping came into the equation. TikTok users can speak directly to myself or my team, via live shopping sessions seven days a week, to hear more about the products, their smell, their quality, and see them in action, so that we can help them to purchase the products best suited to their needs. It’s basically the same as having your own physical shop, but right in the palm of your customers’ hand, where you can help their every need.
“It goes to show the power of TikTok Shop and how, with the right products, creators, environment and magic, you can scale your business to heights beyond imagination.”
