Gü Desserts unveils three seasonal flavours to drive autumn sales

Gü DessertsGü Desserts, the UK’s leading premium dessert brand, is proud to announce the launch of not one but three new seasonal desserts: the Limited Edition Gingerbread Chocolate Melting Middle and Speculoos Cheesecake and Sponge Pudding. These offerings are designed to capture consumers’ desire for comforting, nostalgic flavours during the autumn and winter months, providing retailers with an exciting opportunity to boost category growth.

Seasonal flavours taking centre stage:

Gü is innovating with two flavours that consumers can’t get enough of Speculoos and Gingerbread. Speculoos, a caramelised biscuit made popular by Lotus Biscoff, has seen a surge in popularity, whilst social media content has driven an increased demand for gingerbread-inspired treats. Gü’s new desserts deliver these flavours in the most indulgent formats, aligning perfectly with market trends and consumers’ seasonal preferences.

Product details:

Gingerbread Chocolate Melting Middle Dessert: A limited-edition twist on Gü’s classic Melting Middle, featuring warming autumn spices and a rich, molten chocolate centre, topped with a Speculoos crumb. Offers versatile preparation options: bake in the oven, microwave, or air-fryer.

Speculoos Cheesecake: Speculoos biscuit sprinkles, caramel crème with Speculoos flavour, layered over creamy cheesecake and a crumbly Speculoos biscuit base.

Speculoos Sponge Pudding: A sprinkling of Speculoos biscuit decorates rich, gooey caramelised biscuit flavour sauce. Resting on soft, buttery sponge. Offers versatile preparation options: bake in the oven, microwave, or air-fryer.

Fred Ponnavoy, Gü’s master pâtisserie chef, adds: “Speculoos is a beautifully complex flavour – it’s warm, spiced, and rich, evoking all the comfort and nostalgia of autumn. When creating these desserts, I wanted to capture that essence and elevate it. The balance of caramelised notes with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg is crucial in delivering a depth of flavour that unfolds with each spoonful. Every ingredient is carefully chosen to enhance the textures and richness, whether it’s the creaminess of the cheesecake or the gooey centre of the sponge pudding. It’s been a true labour of love, crafting something to bring our customers joy and indulgence.”

Retailer benefits:

Trend Alignment: By offering both Speculoos and Gingerbread desserts, Gü provides a dual approach to capturing key seasonal trends, driving consumer interest across multiple product formats.

Boosting Seasonal Sales: With autumn and winter being peak seasons for indulgent treats, these products offer an excellent opportunity to increase category sales during this high-demand period.

Proven Brand Success: Gü is the number one dessert brand in the UK, with sales exceeding £73.3 million and growing at over +4.5% RSV versus last year, making these products a reliable addition to any retailer’s dessert range.

Product listings, launch dates and RRP:

Gingerbread Chocolate Melting Middle: Available at Waitrose from 2nd October 2024. Promotional pricing of £2.95 from 23rd October to 12th November; standard RRP is £3.95.
