Homi Kitchen founder, Megan Tan has launched her highly anticipated GiGa Chilli Sauce, her homage to the authentic Singaporean flavours she grew up with, that only her supper club guests have been able to experience, until now.
Traditionally the chilli sauce that’s served with one of Singapore’s national dishes, Hainanese chicken rice, and made with ginger, garlic, and chillies, it’s become the perfect accompaniment for any dish as it brings the three kings of flavour into one jar.
In launching the Giga Chilli Sauce, Megan’s mission to share the richness of Singaporean cuisine with the world continues. A jar of this in the cupboard will take homecooks on a journey to Southeast Asia from the comfort of their home kitchen.
Homi Kitchen began during the pandemic. Megan had just embarked on a new life in London, working abroad for the first time, but found herself weighed down with homesickness for her family, friends, and the food of her childhood. She turned to the kitchen for comfort, setting out to recreate Singaporean food culture here in the UK through her wok. And so, what began as a nostalgic dinner for her social bubble quickly became a passion for bringing comfort and connection through food, eventually leading to the creation of her Giga Chilli Sauce, which became an instant hit.
The chilli sauce has a fresh & rich taste thanks to its high concentration of ginger and garlic, creates a lingering umami flavour that leaves you wanting more every time. Add it to your rice or noodles, drizzle it on your salad, dip your crisps in or even spread it on your sandwich, to bring instant chilli warmth. As Singaporeans like to say…. mmm, “shiok”!
Homi Kitchen’s Giga Chilli Sauce is available now from the Homi Kitchen website, priced £7.49 (170g jar) and is available for nationwide delivery.
