Artificial intelligence is actively restructuring the UK labour market and driving a domestic talent boom, according to New AI Jobs, a new report by MyPerfectCV©, UK’s leading CV building platform. The analysis reveals that as 35% of UK businesses fully integrate AI into their operations, a new class of specialised “superworker” roles has emerged.

While public discourse frequently focuses on automation replacing British workers, the report tracks how the UK’s expanding AI ecosystem is instead creating highly lucrative new career paths commanding salaries of up to £325,000.

Key Takeaways

  • Rapid Wage Growth: Roles where AI absorbs routine work are seeing wage growth 42% faster than average.

  • Record Hiring Demand: The UK currently boasts the second-highest number of job postings requesting AI skills in Europe.

  • A £23.9bn Ecosystem: The UK AI sector has expanded by 75% in just two years, solidifying the nation as the 5th most powerful AI economy globally.

  • The New C-Suite: Baseline salaries for emerging AI-related executive positions, such as Chief AI Officer, are reaching between £140,000 and £325,000.

Top Active AI Vacancies in the UK

AI Data Trainers lead the market with 336 active UK vacancies, representing a highly accessible entry point into the sector for domain experts and writers. This is closely followed by intense demand for technical and creative talent, with Generative AI Engineers (205 active vacancies) and AI Content Strategists (195 active vacancies) rounding out the top three most actively recruited new professions.

10 Brand New Jobs Created by AI

MyPerfectCV’s analysis highlights the top 10 brand-new AI professions currently dominating the UK job market, explaining each role’s responsibilities:

  1. Chief AI Officer / Head of AI (£140,000 – £325,000): Embedding AI safely across an entire enterprise.

  2. AI Red Teamer (£73,500 – £122,000): Ethical hackers deliberately hired to break and expose vulnerabilities in machine learning models.

  3. Agentic AI Architect (£70,000 – £145,000): Engineers building autonomous AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning and task execution.

  4. AI Data Trainer (£24,000 – £75,000): The human element teaching models to converse logically and accurately.

  5. Cyber Security AI Specialist (£60,000 – £107,500): Analysts using machine learning to detect and neutralise sophisticated threats in real-time.

  6. Generative AI Engineer (£73,500 – £122,000): Building and fine-tuning large language models for corporate clients.

  7. AI Content Strategist (£30,000 – £70,000): Orchestrating generative tools to produce copy while maintaining a brand’s unique human tone.

  8. AI UX Designer (£47,500 – £132,500): Mapping out new user journeys for conversational interfaces and autonomous agents.

  9. AI Forward Deployed Engineer (£78,500 – £142,500): Elite, client-facing specialists securely integrating AI into legacy IT infrastructures.

  10. AI Governance Manager (£75,000 – £150,000): Compliance experts auditing algorithms for bias, legal risk, and ethical transparency.

The AI Superworker is Here To Stay

As of 2026, AI has officially transitioned from experimental tech to a core driver of corporate strategy. At the heart of the UK’s global AI standing is its human capital.

This human-centric boom is creating unprecedented opportunities for professionals willing to upskill. Rather than completely replacing workers, the current market heavily rewards those who can seamlessly pair human empathy, judgement, and emotional intelligence with machine speed.
