Scotland’s independent fragrance house, JORUM STUDIO, brings its unique scent world to London this November with the opening of its first flagship store in Marylebone Village. The new two-storey flagship store at 2 Marylebone Street will showcase the signature fragrance collections and candles, all designed in-house, including six new exclusive fragrances at Marylebone store. A significant milestone for the brand, this new location follows the success of their popular Edinburgh boutique.
Founded by master perfumer Euan McCall and creative director Chloe Mullen, JORUM has a bold and contemporary approach to creating modern, poetic fragrances. To celebrate the store opening and the rich cultural connection between Scotland and London, JORUM STUDIO has launched a unique collection of six exclusive fragrances, inspired by the history, culture, and nature surrounding the new Marylebone Village flagship store while also exploring the connection between Scotland and London:
- Young Pretender: Takes inspiration from Bonnie Prince Charlie and the striking painting of the man found in ‘The Scottish Room’ in The Mount Street Restaurant. Exploring the concept of layered musks against wools and umber boronial tones.
- Impression: Heather, Saffron, Rose & Honey*
- Fade: Ambrette seed, Beeswax*, Ambergris, Tonka bean absolute & Vanilla absolute.
* reconstitutions, not animal-derived.
- Tesserae: A direct reference to Scottish artist Eduardo Paolozzi’s iconic Tottenham Court Road tube station mosaics, which were made using the tesserae technique. A complex fragrance using dozens of micro doses speckling big chunks of robust primary materials, creating an energetic profile that is both artistic and wearable. This scent is Co-Founder Euan McCall’s personal favourite.
- Impression: Cardamom, Sichuan pepper, Frankincense, Pink pepper, Absinthe & Whisky.
- Fade: Patchouli, Tobacco, Birch, Rose absolute, Osmanthus absolute, Orange Flower absolute, Styrax, Opoponax, Spikenard, Fir Balsam, Vanilla absolute & Sandalwood oil.
- A New Bond: A multi-layered scent referencing the new bond between Edinburgh and London, the proximity of the store to New Bond Street, and the technique used by Macintosh coats (historically Scottish and synonymous with London).
- Impression: Saffron, Frankincense & Orange Flower absolute.
- Fade: Cistus, Benzoin resin, Vanilla absolute, Tonka Bean absolute, Labdanum absolute & Oud oil.
- Rose Regent: A fragrance inspired by the 40,000 roses planted in The Queen’s Garden within Regent’s Park. When in bloom, the smell of roses fills the air complimented by the arboreal greenery and delicate spring and summer flowers.
- Impression: Rhubarb, Honeysuckle, Rose de Mai, Rose otto & Rose absolute
- Fade: Gardenia, Sandalwood, Douglas Fir & Oud oil.
- Study In Scarlet: Named after the iconic Sherlock Holmes book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, himself a famous Scot who lived for some time in Marylebone. The scent evokes Sherlock’s strong connection to the area and Scotland Yard.
- Impression: Black tea, Davana & Saffron.
- Fade: Osmanthus absolute, Rose de Mai, Jasmine absolute, Champaka absolute, Labdanum absolute, Oud oil & Benzoin resin.
- Aiton’s Bloom: Named after Scottish botanist William Aiton, the first superintendent of Kew Botanical Gardens. Aiton’s journey from being born in Hamilton and trained as a gardener parallels a similar journey taken by Euan McCall’s grandfather. This scent is Creative Director Chloe Mullen’s favourite.
- Impression: Almond Blossom, Jasmine Grandiflorum absolute, Jasmine Sambac absolute, Orange Flower absolute & Tuberose absolute.
- Fade: Ambergris*, Sandalwood oil, Vanilla absolute & Ambrette seed.
* reconstitutions, not animal-derived.
The Marylebone Exclusive Collection fragrances are available only in-store in London, in 50ml bottles, priced between £218 and £278.
“London has always been a city of inspiration and influence for us,” says co-founder and perfumer Euan McCall. “Opening our first store in London’s Marylebone Village is an opportunity to connect directly with our London community offering a space for discovery, exploration, and sensory storytelling in the most authentic way possible. We are particularly excited about introducing Marylebone exclusive scents to our customers.”
With the opening of its London store, JORUM STUDIO is strengthening its global reach while staying true to its heritage of creative expression and artisanal integrity. The new location serves as a celebration of originality and the evolving culture of modern perfumery. The interior design creates a multi-sensory experience, fostering a cross-cultural dialogue between Scotland and the world. Visitors will find stand-out craft pieces from contemporary Scottish makers like Jeni Allison and Chalk Plaster, displayed beautifully alongside antique curiosities and design classics from figures like Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The space is elevated by stylish international furnishings, including Danish accessories from Louise Roe and Christian + Jade, and bespoke, minimalist pieces from Sofie Østerby and USM Haller, resulting in a truly sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.
Transparency is at the heart of the JORUM STUDIO ethos. The brand is committed to producing in a sustainable way by using only the finest raw materials and supporting fellow high-end Scottish makers through the Jorum Craft Award, a self-funded initiative launched in association with Craft Scotland to promote excellence in the field.
