Abu Bakr Supermarket has announced plans to launch a brand-new all-day dining concept called Aura, set to open in the heart of Roundhay in the coming weeks.
The new venue will offer a dynamic, day-to-night experience, serving breakfast and brunch in the mornings before transitioning into a grill and dessert destination in the evening. Designed as a modern social space, Aura aims to attract families, young people and food lovers looking for a stylish place to eat, relax and connect throughout the day.
By day, customers can expect a vibrant breakfast and brunch menu, featuring a range of popular daytime favourites alongside speciality coffees and drinks. As the day progresses, the venue will evolve into an evening hotspot, offering grilled dishes, premium desserts and indulgent sweet treats, including waffles, crepes, milkshakes and signature drinks.
The concept has been carefully developed to go beyond traditional dining, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, presentation and experience. A contemporary interior and thoughtfully designed space will create a welcoming, energetic environment that reflects the meaning behind the name Aura — a focus on vibe, ambience and social connection.
By combining high-quality food with a visually engaging setting, Aura is aiming to establish itself as a go-to destination in Roundhay, where guests can enjoy everything from relaxed breakfasts to late-night desserts.
The launch forms part of Abu Bakr Supermarkets’ wider expansion strategy across the city. Earlier this year, the Leeds-based retailer revealed plans to open six to seven additional stores, alongside the introduction of new food-led concepts.
Aura is expected to be one of the first of several new ventures to be unveiled.
Managing director Hamza Hussain said the concept reflects changing customer habits and the growing demand for more immersive dining experiences.
“Leeds has always supported our growth and we are excited to bring something new to Roundhay. The idea behind Aura was to create something that feels like a real vibe — somewhere people can come to enjoy breakfast, brunch, grilled food and desserts, all in one place, and spend time with friends in a stylish environment.
“Our headquarters and many of our stores are based here in Leeds, so the city remains at the heart of everything we do. Behind the scenes, there is a huge amount of work taking place as we prepare to unveil several additional stores and new concepts.”
The official opening date is expected to be announced soon via the company’s social media channels, including TikTok and Instagram.
Over the past decade, Abu Bakr Supermarkets has grown into one of the most recognisable independent retail brands in Leeds, with multiple locations across the city. The launch of Aura signals a new phase of growth, as the business expands into experiential, food-led destinations.
