Majestic Wine, Majestic Wine, the UK’s leading wine specialist, has re-launched its wedding package with new features, aimed at further supporting newly-engaged couples in their wedding planning process. With costs on the rise, Majestic is able to find couples their perfect package, working with their expert in-store colleagues, for as little as £6, allowing couples to budget for their big day without the worry of additional celebratory expenses.

With the wedding season fast approaching and 1 million couples saying ‘yes’ on Valentine’s Day, many couples are then faced with the challenge of finding the perfect wine to suit not only their taste and budget, but crowd pleasers to suit family and friends. Majestic supports over 5,000 happy couples each year in planning their perfect day and opens over 90,000 bottles a year for customers to taste. Ever evolving to create an even more expert view of which wine will suit varied customer needs – Majestic’s WSET colleagues will also now take the Lunar calendar into consideration during their complimentary wedding tasting service.

Majestic has looked across its portfolio to ensure a strong range of alternative drinking choices, alongside their Master of Wine, Elizabeth Kelly. This has been in order to provide further expert advice and guidance across its portfolio by working with in-store colleagues to recommend key alternative wines and ensure costs remain competitively low to suit all budgets this year.

Majestic guarantees that couples can find suitable options and say “I do” to their perfect wedding wine for as little as £6 per guest, the same cost as in 2022. In store colleagues will highlight key alternatives during tastings as well as boosting key category orders across the business – such as cava – as consumers flock to alternative sparkling wines. This includes a renewed effort to also highlight wine from untapped regions, which tastes as delicious as old favourites.

Majestic offers free private hour-long consultations which are available in each Majestic store – which will highlight exactly how wedding wine will taste on the exact date of their wedding, helping couples to choose the perfect wine to complement their menu.

Majestic’s revised wedding commitment aims to provide added value to couples alongside its other wedding services, including its online wedding drinks calculator, free glass hire, no quibble guarantee and ‘sale on return’ which allows you to bring back any wine not drunk at the nuptials, alongside convenient nationwide delivery services.

The campaign also includes a competition, where all couples booking their wedding tasting with Majestic are entered into a competition to win their wedding package completely FREE.

To enter the competition, engaged couples must:

  1. Step 1: Book a free wedding tasting and consultation by contacting your local branch.

  2. Step 2: Choose the quantity of bottles and extras (beers, spirits, glasses, and chiller bins) using the wedding calculator and let the store know your budget, delivery details, and any additional information.

  3. Step 3: Provide the time, date, and venue for delivery of your wedding order, which is free of charge.

  4. Step 4: Enter a draw for a chance to get your wines for free by letting the colleagues know you want to be entered, when you place your wedding order.

Majestic’s Master of Wine, Elizabeth Kelly, comments: “Weddings are such an important and memorable occasion, and the wine selection can play a big part in creating the perfect atmosphere. With the expert guidance and advice of our colleagues in-store, we can help couples to choose the perfect wine to suit their taste and budget, and with the freeze on prices, they can be confident that they are getting exceptional value for their money as they always have been. We’re looking forward to making the 2023 wedding season one to remember.”

Elizabeth Kelly, Majestic’s  Master of Wine reveals below a recommended menu for the 2023 wedding season that will help you drink better for less at your Wedding: including cost-effective switches, such as  and discovering bottles from unexpected countries and regions:

1. Firstly for the toast, choose a traditional method sparkling wine (£11.99 a bottle):

Graham Beck Brut, South Africa

You’ll be in good company when you uncork a bottle of this Brut on your Wedding Day! It’s affectionately known as the ‘President’s Choice’ because it was served at both Nelson Mandela’s inauguration and Barack Obama’s presidential win.

2. Secondly, select bottles of accompanying wine for the meal – South African Sauvignon (£7.99) and a Romanian Pinot Noir (£6.99).

Incanta Pinot Noir 2020/21, Romania

Romania is where insiders look for great value, great tasting Pinot. It’s in the swing of a post-Soviet winemaking renaissance – and Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife, Elvira, are ready to sing its praises to the rooftops.

Pringle Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Western Cape

Winemakers Duncan Savage and Thys Louw are Sauvignon specialists with the toolkit to rival the freshest Marlborough Sauvignon. They source most of their grapes from coastal vineyards in the Western Cape that are cooled by Atlantic breezes, helping grapes develop crisp and herbaceous aromas.

And what more – a talking point for your wedding wine: Majestic are proud to support The Pebbles Project; donating 25p of every bottle of Pringle Bay Sauvignon Blanc towards enriching the lives of disadvantaged children and families in the agricultural communities of the Western Cape in South Africa.

3. This equates to x3 glasses per person for toast & dinner!
