Marks & Spencer becomes first UK high street retailer to launch stoma underwear for children

Marks & SpencerMarks & Spencer has become the first UK high street retailer to introduce dedicated stoma underwear for children, offering a practical and affordable solution for families across the country. The launch builds on M&S’ existing Womenswear and Menswear stoma underwear ranges, extending its specialist offer to support customers of all ages.

Designed with comfort and confidence in mind, the range is crafted from super-soft cotton with added stretch to provide gentle support while keeping stoma bags securely in place. A discreet internal pocket with soft elastic holds the bag comfortably, helping children feel secure throughout the day. Available in sizes 2–16 years and sold in convenient five-packs, the underwear features a supportive high-rise fit for all-day comfort and flexibility, whether at school, playing sport or relaxing at home.

Online search trends show growing demand for comfortable, high-street options for children living with a stoma. UK searches for terms such as “stoma support pants children” and “kids stoma underwear” are steadily increasing, while year-on-year growth in queries including “best stoma pants UK” and “children’s stoma clothing” highlights demand for an unmet need.

Research also indicates that nearly 70% of people living with a stoma experience leakage that affects their clothing and confidence, underscoring the importance of reliable, everyday solutions that integrate seamlessly into children’s lives.

By bringing stoma-supportive underwear to the high street, M&S is helping to normalise inclusive design while breaking down barriers to access and affordability. Families can now shop specialist-support garments alongside everyday essentials, without the additional cost or inconvenience often associated with medical-grade products.

This launch reflects M&S’s ongoing commitment to inclusive innovation, creating thoughtfully designed products that meet real-life needs and empower customers of all ages.

The new stoma underwear joins the M&S Kids adaptive range, which is designed to make dressing easier, more comfortable and more independent for children with additional needs, including those with physical disabilities, sensory sensitivities or medical requirements.

M&S Kids Stoma Underwear is £9.50 – £10.50, available online now.
