Mindful Chef announces collaboration with The Gut Health Doctor and Bio&Me

The UK’s highest rated recipe box, Mindful Chef, has announced a year-long partnership with Dr Megan Rossi, aka The Gut Health Doctor, world-renowned gut health scientist, registered dietitian and nutritionist, and co-founder of award-winning gut health food brand Bio&Me. Marking Mindful Chef’s most extensive brand collaboration to date, it will deliver an expertly curated range of deliciously diverse, feel-good recipes across the year.

Mindful Chef’s 2024 Healthy Eating Report[1] highlighted that improving gut health is high on the agenda for its customers, neatly aligning with its overall mission of making healthy eating easy. Dr Megan Rossi’s science-backed credentials and Bio&Me’s trusted range of gut healthy products, were the obvious choice to forge the ultimate gut health partnership.

The collaboration’s initial wave will see six plant-packed and fibre-fuelled recipes created exclusively for Mindful Chef by Dr Megan Rossi and features Bio&Me’s live kefir drinks. Available for delivery from Sunday 27th April, the very first two recipes are available to order now on the Mindful Chef website.

A two-time Sunday Times bestselling author, Dr Megan Rossi has long championed the power of plant diversity in supporting gut health. Her simple yet nourishing dishes for Mindful Chef have been designed to help consumers easily eat more diverse and gut-nourishing meals, even when they’re tight on time. Each exclusive recipe is brimming with plant diversity, delivering at least a third of an individual’s daily fibre in every serving, while the inclusion of kefir not only adds protein, but also provides 18 different live and active cultures to further help support a healthy gut microbiome.

The six tasty recipes are: Sunshine Pasta with Roasted Butternut Squash, Baked Cod, Tomato Butterbeans & Dill Roasties, Beetroot, Lentil & Goat’s Cheese Salad, Harissa Roasted Aubergine with Red Pepper Sauce, Creamy Coconut Butter Beans with Sweet Potato and ‘Live’ Raita, and Trout, Courgette & Cannellini Bean Spring Stew.

Those ordering one of the four kefir-based recipes will receive a free 250ml bottle of Bio&Me’s ‘Natural’ kefir. Designed to deliver an authentic and tasty kefir drinking experience, it contains more cultures (100 billion) and strains (18, including two of the world’s most studied strains) than any other brand on the market. The gut healthy drink debuted in Sainsbury’s last year, and is now also available in Tesco stores nationwide. Bio&Me is the fastest-growing kefir brand in the UK at +153%[2].

Jon Walsh, Bio&Me co-founder and CEO, says: “This collaboration highlights the natural synergy between Mindful Chef’s commitment to providing high quality and nutritious meals, and Bio&Me’s scientifically-backed gut healthy products. We’re thrilled to be teaming up for the next 12 months to make deliciously easy gut health a reality for more people.”

Dr Megan Rossi, The Gut Health Doctor and Bio&Me co-founder, observes: “I’ve seen firsthand the importance of eating for your gut microbiome for long-term health and happiness. That’s why I’ve taken great care to ensure each portion contains at least a third of the recommended daily fibre intake (your gut microbes’ favourite food!), with a wide variety of plant-based ingredients, and paired with kefir to deliver the ultimate collection of gut-loving meals. Research shows that we should be aiming for 30+ plant types weekly across what I call the ‘Super Six’ (vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds, herbs and spices, legumes, wholegrains), and the more plants, the more diverse the gut microbiome, which supports immunity, metabolism, skin, mental health, and so much more. I hope people will enjoy recreating these gut-loving recipes at home.”

Tim Lee, Mindful Chef CEO, says: “Over recent years, we’ve seen how our customers’ approach to health has evolved – it’s no longer just about calorie counting, but about feeling good from the inside out. There’s a growing interest in gut health and cutting back on ultra-processed foods, and that’s exactly why this partnership makes so much sense. It’s all about making healthy choices simple, enjoyable, and seriously tasty.”
