South London based husband and wife team, MOMO Kombucha (www.momo-kombucha.com), create Great Taste Award winning kombucha using natural methods; April 2025 sees the New Covent Garden Market based brewery launch another new seasonal kombucha, the limited-edition Blood Orange Kombucha (RRP from £4.50 per 330ml glass bottle) in collaboration with Natoora (www.natoora.com), available from MOMO, Natoora, Selfridges, Gail’s Bakeries, Planet Organic, Zapp and Whole Foods Market.
MOMO’s latest seasonal collaboration with Natoora uses, renowned farmer, Carmelo’s vibrantly coloured Moro Blood Oranges, which burst with bright citrus acidity and deep berry-like sweetness. Grown in Sicily, these Blood Oranges thrive when the gap between day and night temperatures is at its most extreme. MOMO has captured this moment in their limited-edition kombucha, blending Carmelo’s exceptional harvest with their raw and unfiltered kombucha, with its sturdy base of tea, a touch of raw cane sugar, alongside a hint of hibiscus and elderflower to round out the bright and zingy flavours. With a shared commitment to quality and artistry, Natoora and MOMO are natural partners, having collaborated on many seasonal kombuchas to date, including February’s annual Forced Rhubarb Kombucha, their Winter Green Mandarin Kombucha, also made using Carmelo’s exceptional produce, and summer’s juicy Watermelon Kombucha.
Josh Puddle, Co-Founder of MOMO Kombucha says, “We’re thrilled to partner with Natoora for our newest seasonal and are grateful to them for introducing us to Carmelo and his incredibly delicious Moro Blood Oranges. Visiting Carmelo’s beautiful Blood Orange Grove in Sicily was a true highlight since starting the business and his passion and dedication to quality resonate with what we’re doing at MOMO. Our brewers have done an exceptional job to balance the bright citrus acidity and deep berry-like sweetness from the oranges with our kombucha.”
ABOUT CARMELO’S BLOOD ORANGES
Orange-flecked to ruby-red to violet, Carmelo’s vibrantly coloured Moro Blood Oranges are the outcome of his years of experience, and the specifics of the Sicilian climate. When the gap in day-to-night temperatures experienced in Carmelo’s groves is at its most extreme, these fruits are at their peak. At this moment, the fluctuations encourage the production of anthocyanin – this is what gives them their rich hue and berry-like sweetness that balances out their bright citrus acidity.
