Napolina launches premium NPD to elevate at-home pastas with minimal effort and prep time

The UK’s largest selling ambient Italian food brand, Napolina, has announced the launch of four new Pasta Stir Ins, Sundried Tomato & Black Olive Puttanesca, Sundried Tomato & Basil, Spicy Calabrian Nduja with Chilli and Grilled Vegetables.

The range offers a premium alternative to traditional pasta sauce, and can be effortlessly stirred through cooked, hot pasta including plain and filled varieties such as ravioli. Each jar feeds a family of four and is priced at £2.75, with the Spicy Calabrian Nduja and Sundried Tomato & Basil set to hit Tesco shelves in July.

With consumers eating out less frequently, shoppers are looking for new and exciting ways to level up everyday home cooking and create meals that feel special without the restaurant price tag or tedious prep time.

Made in Puglia, Napolina’s Pasta Stir Ins are the perfect solution, combining iconic Italian flavours and ingredients into one product. Consumers can simply pour, stir and enjoy delicious meals from the comfort of their home, with ease.

The Sundried Tomato & Olive Puttanesca Stir In contains black olives, creating a softer, richer flavour profile, providing a point of difference in a category where competitors largely rely on green varieties.

The range also includes Grilled Vegetables, a delicious blend of veggies ideal for hearty pasta dishes, and Sundried Tomato & Basil is great for authentic, Italian meals. Meanwhile, the Spicy Calabrian Nduja with Chilli provides a fiery kick to each dish.

Jeremy Gibson, Marketing Director at Princes Group, commented: “We see an exciting opportunity to tap into the UK’s love of Italian cuisine. Responding to evolving cooking habits and consumer need states is a key step to unlocking new value and growth across the category.

As households increasingly choose to eat at home, with 40% reducing the frequency of eating out to help manage household budgets, they are still seeking those moments of enjoyment and indulgence that Italian food delivers.

Our innovation strategy is centred on helping consumers recreate authentic Italian experiences at home, combining convenience with quality. The Stir Ins range is the first step on that journey, bringing Neapolitan and Italian-inspired flavours to everyday meals in a simple and accessible way, proving that delicious Italian cooking is achievable for everyone.”

Italian is widely loved by consumers, as the No.1 cuisine in the UK. This is reflected in Napolina’s strong market performance, with growth of 1.2% (£1.5m) pushing the brand to surpass £130m in value.

With quick hassle-free meal solutions relevant to 68% of consumers, Napolina is bridging the gap between quality and ease with its new Pasta Stir-Ins range.

Premium, authentic and easy to use, this NPD from the UK’s largest ambient Italian brand aims to attract consumers looking to elevate Italian meals, with 56% of consumers saying that premium pasta sauces are a good replacement for a restaurant meal, and the same share saying they are an affordable treat.

Recognising this demand, Napolina is offering simple and convenient ways to enhance weeknight meals and bring a more indulgent, restaurant-quality experience into their homes.

Napolina Pasta Stir Ins will roll out nationwide:

  • Available from Tesco in July: Spicy Calabrian Nduja and Sundried Tomato & Basil
  • Additional listings from Autumn 2026
  • Promo Price: £2.00
  • RRP: £2.75
