New Nisa store in Dunfermline combines trusted Co-op own brand with greater local choice

Nisa store in DunfermlineA local store in Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, has reopened under new ownership and is already proving a hit with shoppers, offering a revitalised convenience experience that combines the strength of Co-op’s own-brand range with the flexibility of a Nisa Local.

Previously operated by Co-op, the store is now run by experienced independent retailer Bashir Naeem, who also successfully operates a nearby Nisa store. The reopening marks the return of the Dalgety Bay site to local ownership, with Bashir investing heavily to modernise the store and tailor its offering to the needs of the community.

Shoppers are enjoying a refreshed and welcoming store environment, featuring Co-op’s trusted own-brand products alongside a broader range of lines and services. In addition to everyday essentials, fresh produce, chilled foods and snacks, customers can now access PayPoint facilities, a free-to-use cash machine and other new features such as flower sales.

Owner Bashir Naeem said: “We’re thrilled to have reopened the Dalgety Bay store and it’s been fantastic to see such a positive response from the community. Our goal was to create a store that offers great value, more choice and a modern, friendly shopping experience – and it’s wonderful to see customers already embracing it.”

The transformation was supported by Co-op Wholesale, which provided guidance on layout, systems and merchandising. The completed refurbishment includes new counters and shelving, a full redecoration, and updated signage – creating a brighter, more contemporary feel throughout.

By blending the reliability of Co-op’s own-brand range with the adaptability of the Nisa fascia model, the new-look Nisa Local Dalgety Bay offers the perfect mix of quality, value and local character – and has quickly re-established itself as a trusted fixture in the community.
