The Nomadic Watches flagship Belfast store is now open. Situated in the heart of Belfast City Centre (Imperial House, 4-10 Donegall Square E), this moment not only marks a new chapter in Nomadic’s story but also establishes an innovative retail concept where visitors can witness the art of watchmaking unfold before their eyes.
In an industry-first for Belfast, Nomadic is elevating the retail experience beyond traditional boutique concepts – the new store is designed to provide an unprecedented level of transparency and engagement with the watchmaking process. Behind a glass screen in the store, Nomadic’s watchmakers will be assembling and fine-tuning their timepieces in full view of visitors, offering a rare insight into the craftsmanship behind the brand. Customers will be able to view the assembly process of all Nomadic watches, from brand classics like the Maraí 401 and Turas 914 to more recent launches such as the Fíor 555 and Cíor 928. This interactive experience is a testament to Nomadic’s belief that watchmaking should be as much about connection and education as it is about the final product.
For centuries, Belfast has been a city synonymous with engineering excellence and craftsmanship from the shipyards to the linen mills. Nomadic carry that legacy forward with a commitment to precision, innovation, and storytelling through mechanical watchmaking. As a result of this, the new flagship location is not just a store, it is an immersive atelier – a space where enthusiasts, collections, and newcomers alike can engage with horology in a way never seen before in Belfast.
Beyond offering an unparalleled horological experience, the new store is another bold step towards Nomadic’s mission to put Belfast on the world’s watchmaking map. The brand’s investment of over £1 million into this project showcases their dedication to both Belfast and the wider watch community. With the new store, Nomadic aims to up production capacity from 2,000 units per year in 2025 to 5,000 per year by 2027.
Nomadic’s philosophy is encapsulated in two words – “Make Progress” – and it drives everything they do. From the materials they select for their watches to the techniques they refine. Nomadic’s goal to push boundries, challenge conventions, and bring a fresh perspective to independent watchmaking, portrayed with the annoucement of this new flagship store.
Founder, Peter McAuley, shares his excitement: “Having a flagship location like this has been an ambition of ours since starting Nomadic. I firmly believe that in a world filled with ‘Artificial Intelligence’, people value a meaningful in person experience more than ever. Speaking face to face with an expert, getting hands on with a watch and immersing themselves in an incredible retail environment is not something you can replicate online. We see this space as less about retail and more about connecting with people. That’s why we designed this space in colaboration with Crown Creative who are world class in the hospitality sector. This store is the realization of that vision, and I can’t wait to bring this experience to the Belfast high street—with plans to expand to other cities around the world.”
With this new flagship store, Nomadic invite the world to step inside and witness the magic of watchmaking, but also to be a part of a new era in Belfast’s horological history.
