Aldi Scotland is bringing festive cheer to its shoppers across the country with the return of one of its viral products: the square sausage pakora.

After taking the aisles by storm and selling out on release, the Scots-favourite fusion snack is back in store for Christmas – much to the delight of shoppers who cleared the shelves during its last stint at Aldi Scotland in January 25.

Created in partnership with Ayrshire producers Punjab Pakora, the square sausage pakora blends two Scottish icons into one irresistible bite. Lightly fried and served with a spicy tomato and chilli dip, the six-pack (200g) is back in Aldi’s Scottish stores for just £1.89, offering a festive season treat that’s both unique and great value.

Punjab Pakora, known for imaginative twists on classic flavours – including its crowd-pleasing beer-battered and iron brew pakoras – is gearing up for a standout 2025.

Dhruv Duggal, director at Punjab Pakora, said: “The reaction to our square sausage pakora was unbelievable, and we’re thrilled to bring it back for Christmas. Aldi Scotland has been an incredible partner in helping us deliver bold, creative flavours to customers, and we can’t wait to share even more in the year ahead.”

Alan Leslie, Buying Director, at Aldi Scotland, added: “We’ve never seen demand quite like it. Punjab Pakora continue to push boundaries and excite our shoppers, and it’s fantastic to welcome this viral favourite back to stores for the festive season alongside an exciting range of unique and flavourful products.”

Celebrating more than a decade of partnership with Aldi Scotland, Punjab Pakora has grown from the Duggal family’s fish and chip shop kitchen to become one of the retailer’s standout local suppliers, now selling over three million pieces of pakora each year.

Aldi Scotland has an extensive range of seasonal winter products in store including:

  • Haggis Pakora, 200g, £1.89
  • Frasers Steak & Haggis Pies 2pk, £1.69
  • Specially Selected Haggis Bon Bons 240g, £2.29
  • Frasers Ham Hough, 850g, £2.79
  • Ayrshire Cured Gammon Joint with Maple Glaze, 450g, £3.79
  • Ayrshire Cured Gammon Joint with Hot Honey Glaze, 450g, £3.79
  • Smoked Garlic & Chilli Scottish Pork Schnitzel, 286g, £3.49
  • Lemon & Herb Scottish Pork Schnitzel, 286g, £3.49

The returning favourites – including the viral square sausage pakora – will be available in all 112 Aldi stores across Scotland, while stocks last.
