Poundland today adds a special festive touch to its £3 meal deal – a new Christmas sandwich, handmade in the north east of England.
Curated at On A Roll Sandwich Company’s Pantry by its in-house chefs, the sandwich is bursting with turkey, cranberry and stuffing.
And there’s a vegetarian option for customers – a ‘cheese and Christmas slaw’ sandwich that hits store chiller cabinets this week.
Both are available priced at just £2 or as part of Britain’s best value £3 meal deal which offers three items – sandwich, drink and snack.
The launch comes hot on the heels of its move to increase the number of items at £1 or below from around 1,000 to 1,500 in all its UK stores.
Last week everyday essentials such as milk, bread, sugar and eggs all were reduced to a locked price of £1 and Poundland began the launch of new £1 fresh produce stands in over 520 stores across the UK.
Now across Poundland’s typical core range of around 5,000 items, around a third, are £1 or less, reinforcing Poundland’s position, to be the home of the pound.
Last week Poundland also launched ’12 deals of Christmas’, covering different must-have Christmas essentials such as LED lights, gift bags, wrap, biscuits and more.
The offers, which will cover both grocery and general merchandise will change each Wednesday between now and Christmas, providing even greater value to customers.
This week’s deals see the price of McVities 730g Tasties biscuits crumble from £3.50 to £2.00, 40 LED lights switched from £1.50 to just 75p and an eight LED mini light chain sparkle at 75p instead of its usual price of £1.25.
Next week’s deals see the price of Bassetts wine gums (350g) reduced from £3.50 to £2.00 and Nestle Walnut Whips (six pack) lowered from £3.25 to £2.00.
“Others may have celebrities in their expensive Christmas TV ads, but at Poundland it’s the price that’s the star,” said FMCG director Glyn Hughes.
“That’s why we’re delighted to have worked with up-and-coming supplier On A Roll to create a festive sandwich that tastes as good as any on the market – and just for £2.”
While Poundland isn’t always the first place office workers would consider for their lunch date, its £3 meal deal has raised the bar with new options from high quality suppliers.
Priced at an incredible £3, Poundland’s meal deal is designed to satisfy lunch time cravings without breaking the bank – and what sets Poundland’s offer apart is that the price is not dependent on the need for a loyalty card.
