Ibersol Group, (Euronext Lisbon IBERSOL, SGPS), a multi-brand organized restaurant group, with a presence in Portugal, Spain and England, has announced the opening of the first Pret A Manger (Pret) restaurant in Spain.
The British sandwich and organic coffee brand, founded more than 30 years ago in London, lands in Barcelona with a new location at the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona – El Prat airport, with an aim to become one of the top food-to-go retailers in the Spanish market.
With this first opening, Ibersol Group is supporting Pret’s strategic ambition to expand the brand across Europe. In partnership with Ibersol Group, Pret aims to open 70 shops in the Iberian Peninsula over the next decade, with a presence both in major cities and strategic commercial hubs, such as airports and railway stations in Spain and Portugal. The new partnership and ambitious growth plans in the region will aim to position Pret as one of the fastest growing brands in the sector.
Pret arrives in Barcelona with a large new shop located in the Arrivals Area of Terminal 2B of the Barcelona airport, which will be operated directly by the Travel division of Ibersol Group.
The new 530m2 shop can accommodate 160 customers, who will be able to enjoy the large assortment of freshly made sandwiches, salads, wraps, and hot food, with plenty on offer for vegetarians and vegans. Pret’s freshly prepared food is made every day in kitchens by Team Members, from the best quality, carefully selected ingredients.
In addition, Pret offers an extensive range of hot and cold drinks prepared by its expert baristas, including organic coffees, teas, available with milk or plant-based alternatives.

Today, Pret has more than 660 stores in 15 markets, with key European markets including the UK, Ireland, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, and Italy.
