RAW Charging, the leading electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator for the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors is delighted to announce the successful installation and electrification of EV chargers at Eastern Avenue Retail Park in Romford, owned by abrdn plc (“abrdn”).

- Well located on major arterial route: On average, Eastern Avenue Retail Park has 15.5 million drivers pass the site each year.

Eastern Avenue Retail Park is home to well-known brands including Currys, Wren Kitchens, Burger King and Costa. Visitors to the retail park can enjoy their shopping experience knowing that RAW’s fast and reliable chargers are charging their vehicles.
To celebrate the launch of this latest scheme at Eastern Avenue Retail Park, RAW will once again offer free charging, on site, to ensure drivers can experience the convenience of ultra-rapid charging whilst shopping. In 2024 1 in 3 new vehicles sold in the UK were electric or hybrid vehicles. abrdn and RAW’s investment will help keep Britain moving. Visitors to Eastern Avenue and the surrounding region can now travel in confidence, knowing that they will be able to charge their car on arrival with RAW’s state of the art EV chargers.
London is the largest region in the UK for the sale of electric vehicles. To meet that demand significant EV infrastructure, such as RAW’s rapid hubs are required. London currently hosts one third of the UK’s EV infrastructure and aims aims to have between 40,000 to 60,000 charge points by 2030, with 4,000 being rapid charge points. The latest installation by RAW will support both commuters and locals as a result of Eastern Avenue Retail Park’s location on the busy A12.
This installation marks another milestone in RAW’s growing collaboration with abrdn. This shared commitment to enhancing destination charging aligns with RAW’s mission to make EV charging faster, more accessible, and more convenient for retail customers. RAW has installed chargers for abrdn across the UK at prime retail locations including Brotherhood Shopping Park in Peterborough and St George’s Shopping Park in Leicester.
