Ritter Sport UK has reinforced its ambitious growth plans by announcing two strategic appointments. Ahleam Safdar and Neil Swift have joined the business as Senior Business Managers, supporting the Out of Home (OOH) and Grocery channels respectively. These senior commercial appointments signal Ritter Sport’s commitment to driving growth in key segments of the UK confectionery market, building on its strong performance and increasing presence across retail channels.
Ahleam Safdar, senior business manager, OOH, said: Ahleam brings with him a diverse track record in FMCG sales and channel development, having held roles at Unilever, Ferrero, Kettle Chips, A.G. Barr, and BiC. His experience spans both established power brands such as Persil and disruptive innovation launches like No Fear Energy Drink, making him ideally positioned to lead Ritter Sport’s next phase of growth in the out-of-home environment.
“Ritter Sport has a strong brand identity and the potential to disrupt the confectionery space in impulse-driven premium formats,” said Ahleam. “The bold branding and quality product offering are a perfect fit for today’s evolving snacking habits, and I’m excited to be part of the team unlocking that next wave of growth. This role presented an opportunity to apply my expertise in Out of Home and wholesale channels to a brand that’s poised for real growth beyond traditional retail.”
Neil Swift, Senior Business Manager, Grocery: “Neil joins Ritter Sport from Bahlsen UK, where he played a key role in growing brands such as Choco Leibniz and Pick Up. His earlier 12-year tenure at Ferrero UK saw him lead commercial initiatives across major accounts and contribute to the successful integration of Thorntons following its acquisition.
“I’ve been watching Ritter Sport’s growth in the UK for some time now; the momentum and market buzz is tangible,” said Neil. “The varied product offering and flavour innovation bring real excitement to the grocery aisle, and I love working in a business that is on the front foot, driving every opportunity forward at speed.”
In his new role, Neil will work as part of the team focused on strengthening Ritter Sport’s penetration within UK grocery retail, supporting key customers to help bring the brand to more shoppers nationwide.
Between them, Ahleam and Neil bring blue-chip experience and an understanding of challenger brand agility. This knowledge will be instrumental in scaling the brand’s presence outside traditional channels and ensuring Ritter Sport remains a key value-driving partner to its retail customers.
Ritter Sport’s continued investment in the UK reflects the brand’s confidence in the market and its ambition to deliver sustainable, differentiated growth within the premium chocolate segment.
