Shoezone expands payment options with American Express online and in-store

ShoezoneShoezone, the online and in-store affordable footwear retailer, has introduced American Express as a new payment option for customers shopping both online and across its UK store network.

The launch of American Express acceptance provides shoppers with greater flexibility at checkout, allowing customers to use their preferred payment method when purchasing footwear and accessories from shoezone.

Shoezone customers can now use American Express across the retailer’s website and app, alongside its 257 physical store locations, creating a more consistent omnichannel shopping experience.

The retailer’s expanded payment methods form part of shoezone’s wider commitment to improving customer experience both online and in-store. As consumer expectations continue to evolve, shoezone is ensuring shoppers can access affordable footwear through a seamless purchasing journey, with speed, convenience and flexibility increasingly influencing purchasing decisions.

The introduction of American Express acceptance also allows shoezone customers who regularly pay with their Amex Card to earn rewards on their spending, including Membership Rewards points, which can be redeemed on travel, gift cards, retail purchases, or statement credits. In the UK, on average Amex Cardmembers spend over three times more annually and over twice as frequently in comparison to the average UK credit and charge card users.

The move also reflects changing spending habits among younger consumers, with Millennials and Gen Z now American Express’ fastest-growing customer segments.

A spokesperson for shoezone said: “We’re pleased to introduce American Express as an additional payment option for shoezone customers both online and in-store. Offering greater flexibility at checkout is another step towards enhancing our customers’ shopping experience, with flexibility and convenience being key.”

Dan Edelman, general manager, UK Merchant Services, said: “American Express is now accepted for payment at more locations than ever before in the UK, and we’re committed to ensuring our Cardmembers can use their American Express Card at all the places they want to spend. We’re delighted that shoezone can now welcome the spending power of American Express Cardmembers.”
