The Body Shop to optimise supply chain operations with RELEX

The Body Shop, a globally recognised cosmetics, skincare, and personal care brand, has selected RELEX Solutions, provider of unified supply chain and retail planning solutions, to transition from manual and labour-intensive processes to a unified, AI-driven platform. The Body Shop will implement forecasting and replenishment to optimise inventory management and improve operational efficiency across its global stores, franchises, and distribution centres.

The Body Shop was founded in 1976 in Brighton, England, by Dame Anita Roddick. They are a trusted pioneer in ethical wellbeing, offering high-quality, innovation-driven skincare, body care, hair and make-up products made with naturally inspired and Community Fair Trade ingredients from around the world, operating in over 80 markets internationally and close to 2,000 retail stores.

Previously, The Body Shop was unable to continuously deliver outputs at the required pace, using legacy ERP systems and manual processes. As part of their renewal strategy, they are focused on building a leaner, more resilient supply chain to support strategic growth, particularly through their expanding franchise network. RELEX has been chosen due to its proven track record of supporting health and beauty brands, aligned sustainability values, and the ability to scale as needed.

“RELEX provides far more than a demand planning & inventory solution; it is a catalyst for transformation,” said Hitesh Amin, Chief Technology & Transformation Officer, The Body Shop. “It enables us to deliver on two critical imperatives: reducing waste, which lies at the heart of our ethos, and accelerating our ambition to become an AI & Data-first beauty company. By embedding advanced forecasting and replenishment capabilities, we shift from reactive operations to predictive intelligence, building a supply chain that is agile, resilient, and a true driver of competitive advantage. This partnership allows us to focus where it matters most: serving our customers, empowering our franchise partners, and driving purposeful, sustainable growth across our global network.”

“The Body Shop has long been a pioneer in ethical beauty and prides itself on its commitment to smaller suppliers, fostering an ecosystem of equality and opportunity”, Johanna Småros, co-founder & chief sustainability officer, RELEX. “We at RELEX are eager to support this endeavour and enable The Body Shop to reduce waste, improve operational agility, and continue to uplift small suppliers and partners, helping them thrive in a more equitable, efficient retail ecosystem.”
