The Coconut Collab Expands Protein Yog Range with Strawberry Protein Launch

The Coconut Collab, makers of naturally sweet and irresistibly creamy pots of coconut deliciousness, can today announce the launch of Strawberry Protein – a creamy and fruity single serve Strawberry Protein Coconut Yog. This tasty new launch is designed to counter the range of protein-focussed products on offer, currently dominated by cereals, bars, and protein powders which are often dry and tasteless, highly processed, and full of sweeteners and artificial ingredients, instead providing a delicious alternative that is superior in taste, has no added sugar, and delivers a natural source of protein.

Combining thick and creamy coconut and almond yoghurt which boasts The Coconut Collab’s signature cloud-like texture, all-natural ingredients, and sweet strawberry flavour, derived from a strawberry compote (no added sugar; sweetness from fruit sugars only), together with a pop of protein (from almond and soy; 9g protein per pot), Strawberry Protein is the perfect addition to a healthy lifestyle – without any compromise on taste. It also includes nine essential amino acids, as well as live cultures, which are known to be beneficial for our gut health – and, as if that’s not enough, it happens to be dairy-free too!

Strawberry Protein Yog (RRP. £1.60; 180g) launches into retailers including Tesco (available now) and Ocado (late March).

This launch follows the recent arrival of The Coconut Collab’s Protein Yog, which has proved a hit amongst customers seeking natural, simple and delicious ways to ‘up’ their protein intake. The launch of Strawberry Protein signifies an exciting expansion of this range, offering wider choice for customers seeking a tasty treat with a plant-powered protein boost – equally lovely for breakfast, post-gym, or as a work-day snack.

“The Coconut Collab’s Protein Yog has been hit with our consumers, who love that it is a natural way to get protein into their diet without any artificial sweeteners, so we’re thrilled to add a new flavour to the range,” says Anna Dominey, Managing Director of The Coconut Collab, the UK’s No1 dairy-free dessert brand. “Like all our coconut-based Yogs, Strawberry Protein is thick, creamy, has no added sugar, and is packed with gut-friendly goodness – plus a boost of protein for a simple, delicious way to up your daily intake.”

The Coconut Collab crafts their naturally sweet and irresistibly creamy pots of coconut deliciousness using only coconuts and a handful of other sustainably sourced ingredients, transforming these magical ingredients into super thick and creamy, yet surprisingly light, yoghurts and desserts. It also ensures that 100% of the coconuts sourced to create its range are used within its supply chain, resulting in zero waste.

The launch of Strawberry Protein follows an exciting brand refresh for The Coconut Collab, which has gone from strength to strength in recent years, firmly placed as one of the leading brands in the dairy-free category.

The brand refresh has resulted in a clean, new look for The Coconut Collab, moving away from the brand’s previous positioning, which was rooted in the rejection of dairy, and instead pivoting to highlight the positives of the brand – such as the premium, high quality ingredients, the traditional fermentation techniques used, the infusion of coconut water for natural sweetness, minimal processing, and unique (and much-loved!) taste and texture. This move is designed to capitalise on the significant opportunity for growth by increasing awareness of The Coconut Collab amongst mainstream consumers, for whom dairy-free or plant-based is not necessarily a key motivator to purchase.

“Our consumers love food and are evangelical about the thick and creamy texture of our yogs, the delicate taste of coconut in our signature natural recipe, and the boldness of our fruit flavours,” adds Anna. “They also love the health benefits we offer – naturally low in sugar (we never add sugar to our yogs, we infuse them with coconut water for natural sweetness) and crafted with simple, natural ingredients.

“We will always be a plant-based brand and, historically, this has been the main message we have communicated to our consumer base. The lightbulb moment for us was just how many of our consumers love us for what we are in our own right – simple, delicious, and natural – and this prompted us to focus more on highlighting these positives, rather than focusing on what we are not.”

The Coconut Collab’s new look has been rolled out across the whole range, as well as other brand touchpoints such as the website and social media. It will be heavily supported by investment into marketing campaigns this year, with plans for experiential marketing, OOH and a 360 digital marketing campaign to amplify the brand’s new positioning.
