The shortlist for the inaugural Great British Industry Awards, sponsored by Allica Bank, has been announced, recognising the UK’s most impressive mid-sized businesses from all corners of the country and across every industry.

These awards, the only ones dedicated to celebrating established businesses with a turnover between £10m and £200m, shine a spotlight on the often overlooked companies that are driving the economy, creating jobs, exporting excellence, and pushing boundaries in sectors ranging from food and drink to manufacturing and technology.

With a combined turnover of £1.5bn and employing over 11,500 people, the shortlisted businesses are a shining example of the ambition, resilience, and scale that fuel the UK economy.

The Great British Industry Awards, organised by the team behind the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, UK Fast Growth Index, and UK StartUp Awards, have been launched to provide recognition for mid-sized businesses whose contribution to the UK economy is often overlooked by large investors, high street banks, policy-makers and other industry bodies.

By celebrating ambition, scale, and the real impact being made, the awards will provide a platform for these businesses to showcase their success and celebrate their contributions to the UK’s growth.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, a leading expert in entrepreneurship and co-founder of these awards, commented: “Mid-sized businesses are the key drivers of the UK economy. They are the innovators, the regional growth engines, and the job creators across every industry, from food and drink to cutting-edge technology. The Great British Industry Awards offer a unique opportunity to celebrate these businesses, which are often overlooked but are absolutely vital to our long-term economic success.”

Conrad Ford, chief product officer at Allica Bank, a challenger bank built especially for established businesses and an official sponsor of the Great British Industry Awards, said:

“Allica Bank is proud to support the very first Great British Industry Awards. These awards recognise the established businesses that drive the real economy, the often-unsung heroes whose determination, innovation and impact are felt in communities across the UK. Celebrating these industry leaders is at the heart of what Allica stands for and we are honoured to help shine a light on their achievements. Supporting their growth and success is not just important to us, it’s a core part of our mission and crucial in the fight to keep the British economy alive and thriving.”

The Great British Industry Awards will culminate in the celebration at The Gherkin on July 9th, where winners will be announced and celebrated for their significant achievements and impact. This event promises to provide a stage for these businesses to gain the recognition they truly deserve whilst also offering the opportunity to network with peers.
