This year, delight guests at the dinner table with wines worth sharing, from Tbilvino Wines, authentic Georgian treasures that celebrate centuries of winemaking tradition, to Botega Norton Wines, Argentine’s oldest winery in Luján de Cuyo, and Bread & Butter Wines, the California cult-favourites that are always a crowd-pleaser. These bottles are made for gifting, gathering, and raising a glass to the holidays.

Bread and Butter Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 (£16.00) – available from Sainsbury’s, Ocado, The Wine Flyer and Majestic: Unwrap a taste of California warmth this season with celebration-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon. Fragrant with ripe blackberry, cassis, and a whisper of mocha, it reveals generous layers of dark cherry, blackcurrant, and a touch of toasted oak. Silky tannins and a lingering, spice kissed finish make it a stylish choice for Christmas feasts, from slowroasted beef ‑to rich mushroom wellington.

Chardonnay 2023 (£16.25, 75cl) – available from Sainsbury’s,  Ocado, Co op, The Wine Flyer  and Majestic: Add a touch of Christmas indulgence with this rich, creamy Chardonnay, brimming with tropical fruit, vanilla bean and toasted oak. Finished with the brand’s signature buttery balance, it’s a luxurious choice for Christmas Day feasts, pairing beautifully with roast turkey and all the trimmings or a baked salmon with herb butter.

Pinot Noir 2023 (£16.00, 75cl) – available from Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Co op, The Wine Flyer  and  Majestic: Elegant and inviting, this festive red unfolds with flavours of ripe cherries, juicy raspberries, cassis, and a hint of sweet vanilla. Silky and warming, it’s the perfect choice for Christmas gatherings, whether served with roasted mushrooms, tender duck breast, or a lavish charcuterie board. A wine to savour by the glow of the tree, from Christmas Eve through to New Year’s toasts.

Rosé 2022 (£16.00, 75cl) – available from Sainsbury’s and The Wine Flyer: Forget the old rule that rosé is just for summer – this elegant 2022 vintage proves it shines just as brightly in the colder months. Bursting with generous aromas of ripe strawberry, succulent melon and delicate rose petals, its lively, refreshing finish cuts beautifully through the richness of winter comfort foods. A chic and unexpected choice for the festive table, it pairs effortlessly with creamy cheeseboards, savoury cured meats, and indulgent smoked salmon canapés – bringing a splash of brightness to even the chilliest evenings.

Botega Norton

Norton Malbec Reserve Finca Agrelo 2021 (Available at Waitrose, £17.50)

Intensely red in colour with purple hues, matched by aromas of ripe, tangy fruits balanced by velvety tannins. This Malbec is smooth, mild, and lingering on the palate, capturing the spirit of the season. Perfect for a true wine lover this Christmas.

Norton Winemaker’s Reserve Malbec 2023 (Available at Waitrose, £10)

A blend of grapes from vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, this characterful Malbec offers a balanced nose and palate. Its intense red colour with purple hues, is accompanied by aromas of ripe, tangy fruits and gentle tannins. A beautifully balanced wine that pairs wonderfully with winter feasts and cosy Christmas gatherings.

Altura White Blend 2023 (Available at Threshers, £20)

Bright aromas showcase the citrus and fresh herbal notes of Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by the white fruit character of Grüner Veltliner and Semillón. On the palate, it is vibrant and lively, with crisp acidity that carries through to a long, refreshing finish, bringing a festive sparkle to every glass.

Tbilvino Wine of Georgia

Saperavi (£13.99 or £11.99 for six at Majestic, 75cl) – available from Majestic: Tipped to be the new Malbec, Saperavi is the king of the Georgian grapes. With deep black-fruit flavours and a whisper of spice, it’s a bold, full-bodied choice that shines with hearty beef roasts or a chickpea nut roast. Best enjoyed with good company, it brings warmth and richness to the Christmas table.

Qvevris Rkatsiteli (13.99, 75cl) – available from Majestic: This deep and rare amber wine with notes of quince, pear and festive spice will elevate your holiday table. Made from white Rkatsiteli grapes, the wine is crafted using ancient Georgian vinification. The juice is fermented with the grape skins in qvevri clay pots buried underground, which gives the wine its distinctive amber hue. Best served chilled, its gentle acidity and refreshing finish, make it a versatile partner for Christmas roasts or the fruity sweetness of a classic Christmas pudding.
