Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) announces the launch of the second edition of the Westfield Good Festival, an annual event to showcase the positive steps brands are making in the environmental transition. The event aims to inspire and support consumers who want to live more sustainably and give back to their communities.

Following the success of last year’s event, the Westfield Good Festival will this year expand to the US, with events happening in April and May across the Group’s 38 Westfield-branded shopping centres in Europe and the US.

The UK festival will take place across both London centres, kicking off at Westfield Stratford City from the 3rd to 6th May, followed by a packed agenda at Westfield London from the 16th to 19th May.

The festival, now in its second year in the UK, is designed to educate and inspire visitors of all ages and backgrounds and forms part of URW’s commitment to supporting customers to embrace circularity and mindful consumption. This year’s festival promises to build on last year’s which saw visitors getting involved in everything from upcycling workshops, to clothing repair stations, second-hand markets, tastings of local and organic products, and talks from experts.

The Westfield Good Festival will also showcase The Seam, a clothing-startup connecting customers with local, specialist Makers across London and beyond. The company offers wardrobe care and repair services, customisation and alterations, and was voted the People’s Choice winner at the 2023 Westfield Grand Prix, a competition recognising the eco-conscious retail champions of tomorrow.

Anne-Sophie Sancerre, chief customer and retail officer of URW, said: “The Westfield Good Festival illustrates the solid foundations of URW’s sustainable journey and clearly demonstrates how we support the sustainable evolution of retail in partnership with retailers and consumers. Our consumers expect us to enable their sustainable practices. This second edition will again give brands, through our Westfield platform, the opportunity to share their sustainability journey with our visitors. With the success of the inaugural event, I’m delighted to see the enthusiasm of our retailers and community partners in participating again, as well as the expansion of the programme to our US centres.”

Katie Wyle, UK head of shopping centre management for URW, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the second Westfield Good Festival here in the UK, where brands and consumers can share insights, best practise and motivate one another towards adopting eco-friendlier shopping habits. This year’s festival will also showcase our recent UK Grand Prix finalist, The Seam, as we continue to support emerging, innovative businesses making a real impact in this space.”
