Wendy’s unveils new restaurant design – “Future Fresh”

Wendy's Wendy’s®, the iconic global quick-service restaurant brand, is rolling out a new restaurant design, Future Fresh, across its international markets. To celebrate five years in the UK,  Wendy’s  Reading and Kingston London locations are receiving a design refresh this month.

Future Fresh is part of Wendy’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in new markets where the brand is expanding by creating a more modern, distinctive and digitally-enhanced customer experience while remaining true to its heritage. Shaped by insights from consumers, franchisees and learnings from new market entries, Future Fresh integrates restaurant design, digital experiences and brand expression into one cohesive platform.

The refreshed UK restaurants feature a bold new exterior that emphasises Wendy’s iconic blue colour palette, creating stronger visual differentiation in competitive high street and retail environments. The design pays homage to the brand’s roots, as the very first Wendy’s restaurant featured a blue and white exterior.

Inside, customers will experience a contemporary environment with modern technology to support digital and in-restaurant ordering, streamlined layouts and updated branding designed to create a seamless journey from ordering through to collection and dining.

Importantly, Future Fresh was designed with flexibility in mind, allowing individual restaurants to reflect local communities while maintaining a consistent global Wendy’s identity. This approach supports the brand’s ambition to be “globally great, locally loved” across every market in which it operates.

Michael Clarke, Managing Director of Wendy’s UK, said: “Future Fresh represents the next chapter of Wendy’s growth journey in the UK. As we celebrate five years in the market, it’s important that our restaurants reflect the modern, high-quality experience customers expect while staying true to the heritage and personality that makes Wendy’s unique. We’re excited to bring this refreshed look and feel to Reading and Kingston, giving customers more reasons than ever to visit.”

The UK upgrades at Reading and Kingston represent the latest phase of Wendy’s ongoing investment in the UK, reinforcing its commitment to delivering elevated customer experiences.

To mark the occasion Wendy’s is offering a free regular sized Frosty® dessert with any £5 purchase through the app (dine-in or takeaway), until 26th July 2026.
