Young women more likely to pack heels than sandals for a festival, Tequila Rose study shows

Tequila RoseYoung women are more likely to pack heels than sandals for a festival, a study has revealed.

New research by Tequila Rose shows more girls aged 18 to 24 would pick heels (11%) over sandals (8%) – and they’re less likely than their older gal pals to reach for wellies, with just 23% packing them over 39% of women aged 35 to 44.

More than half of practical Millennial women describe their festival packing style as ‘ready for anything’ – with chargers, medicine, raincoats and the kitchen sink in their wheelie cases.

But while 40% of Gen Z also think they’re prepared, over 37% of them admitted their packing styles are best described as ‘glam and ready’ (19%) or ‘theme-obsessed’ (18%), where every outfit matches the vibe – right down to the cowboy boots and lip gloss.

It comes as Strictly star Tasha Ghouri teamed up with the UK’s favourite pink strawberry shot brand, Tequila Rose, to launch the first festi-sential vending machine packed with the essentials in a glam bag to help muddy music fans transform from grim to glam during festival season.

Tasha Ghouri applies lip gloss which has been voted the UK’s number 1 makeup Festi-sential

Lip gloss and other festival staples were handed out this week in Tequila Rose’s take on the festival bum bag, the glam bag, after a poll revealed it to be the UK’s must-have festival beauty item for Gen Z and Millennial women.

Ghouri said: “I love lip gloss and it’s my beauty festi-sential – but I wouldn’t pack heels to a festival!

“The British weather is so unpredictable you’d be in for a ride and easily end up sinking into the ground.

“I like to start packing two months before I go away to avoid the last-minute stress and plan my outfits.

“I love to be  ‘glam and ready’ with a mix of outfits and a cute boot – but I avoid flip flops or sandals because they get muddy very quickly and I hate the feeling of grass on my feet! It’s a strange sensation.”

Some 250 lucky festival-goers received a glam bag, designed to help music fans slay the day, with a lip gloss, mini-mirror, hand sanitiser, poncho, and a Tequila Rose mini with a shot glass following a giveaway at London’s Paddington station on June 25.

Sophie McLeay, Tequila Rose brand manager, said: “Festival season is in full swing, and our research shows that glam is a top priority for our consumers as they get ready to escape real life and embrace the festival vibe with their friends.

“We know looking and feeling good is all part of the experience, and Tequila Rose is here to be part of that glam moment. We’re encouraging everyone to bring the glam and drink the pink this festival season.”

Throughout the festival season, consumers will be in with a chance to get their hands on the limited edition Tequila Rose glam bags via the TequilaRoseUK Instagram page and Tesco stores nationwide next month.
