Harvey Nichols has launched a new retail destination, 125, on the ground floor of the Knightsbridge flagship. Uniting both world-renowned designers and rising talent through curated edits in home and lifestyle, this new space, the latest phase in the store’s refurbishment, celebrates design, collaboration and craftsmanship.
Anchoring the space is a new immersive installation by artist Gary Card, ‘Harvey, Nick, Joe and Tom’. Kate Phelan, creative director, commented: “We wanted to add a bold, sculptural element to 125 that would surprise and captivate customers, as well as signifying a new era for the brand. Gary’s totem brings this vision to life, welcoming customers as they enter the space, whilst also setting the perfect tone through his spirited use of scale, colour and form.”
The new space features an edited curation of design and lifestyle objects, intended to inspire Harvey Nichols’ discerning shoppers. London institution, Claire de Rouen, has carefully selected an evolving collection of rare books on visual culture, celebrating art, fashion and photography. These sit alongside pared-back, minimalist speakers by Scandinavian brand Transparent; designed to support a circular technology, they turn audio equipment into considered design objects.
Natalia Criado adds a playful edge with hand-finished pieces that blur the line between jewellery and tabletop design, often featuring natural stone accents such as rose quartz and lapis lazuli. Alighieri CASA contributes narrative depth through sculptural silver and gold- plated pieces, transforming everyday dining into a statement experience, while design stalwart Georg Jensen reinterprets classic Scandinavian forms, bringing sculptural elegance to functional objects. Those drawn to eclectic design will enjoy Gohar World’s playful tablewear designed in New York and created by family-owned ateliers. Corsi Design’s richly glazed flexible resin homewear accessories have irresistible tactile and visual appeal, while vibrant glassware by Laguna B is crafted from recycled Venetian glass.
Contained within 125 and adjacent to Sloane Street is a new flexible space, providing a unique platform for innovative design. This Autumn, Harvey Nichols presents ‘Take A Seat’ by Brigitta Spinocchia Freund in collaboration with PAD London, the leading fair for historical and contemporary design. With a bespoke installation of iconic chairs on the ground floor, Brigitta’s edit will extend throughout the Knightsbridge store and will be the first collaboration in the space.
Julia Goddard, CEO, concludes: “We believe each aspect of our customers’ lives is a fashion choice, extending from clothing to interiors, design, fragrance and beauty. 125 brings that philosophy to life, creating a space that reflects our approach to style and sets the tone for the customer experience across the entire store.”
