This year will see TAG Heuer continue its role as Official Timekeeper of the TCS London Marathon, a race which embraces the spirit of the Swiss luxury watchmaker.
Following phenomenal victories in the elite races in the 2022 edition of the event in October, this year’s TCS London Marathon, on Sunday 23rd April, is greatly anticipated for potential new records from participants set against a backdrop of the capital’s landmarks and measured on TAG Heuer time.
In a star-studded line-up, four of the fastest men in history, Kenenisa Bekele (ETH), Kelvin Kiptum (KEN), Birhanu Legese (ETH) and Mosinet Geremew (ETH) will go head to head. The greatest-ever field has also been assembled for the elite women’s race, where among those taking part are defending champion and world 10K record holder Yalemzerf Yehualaw (ETH), the marathon world record holder Brigid Kosgei (KEN) and the Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir (KEN).
Keeping participants connected
In 2023, TAG Heuer will once again ensure that all participants are connected as they strive for greatness in the TCS London Marathon. All runners who take to the famous 26.2-mile distance will have the opportunity to share their own ‘finish line selfie’, which includes their official event time provided by TAG Heuer. This function will be available via the Official TCS London Marathon App, powered by TCS. All participants will also receive a text message once they finish, congratulating them on their course time.
A commitment to the legacy of timekeeping
TAG Heuer is proud to be Official Timekeeper of the TCS London Marathon for its eighth consecutive year, and to continue to celebrate its sporting excellence. Renowned for a legacy of timekeeping precision and racing spirit, TAG Heuer’s technological innovations have kept pace with the evolution of sports since 1860. The winners of this year’s elite races will be presented with a TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 watch in recognition of their determination, passion and excellence – qualities that are upheld and commended by the brand, whose family of world-renowned sports Ambassadors includes hurdler and sprinter Sydney McLaughlin, and big wave surfer Kai Lenny.
“We are delighted to continue to partner with the TCS London Marathon, a city where TAG Heuer has a strong community, and to keep all runners connected across a race that embodies the spirit of the brand. A passion for human performance in the city
United by a common interest in physical and mental achievement and resilience, for the 2023 TCS London Marathon TAG Heuer has partnered with urban running collective Run Dem Crew. Established in 2007 by London-based DJ, poet and writer Charlie Dark, Run Dem Crew aims to disrupt the status quo and promote fitness, culture and healthy lifestyles with as many people around the planet as possible. Sharing in these values and with an ethos that every performance matters, this is the first year that TAG Heuer has partnered with the collective which, since 2011 has brought a carnival to the roadside at mile 20. This year, runners will once again experience the ‘cheer zone’, now one of the liveliest points on the course, as they approach the final stretch of the race on TAG Heuer time.
