Just in time for porridge season, The Great British Porridge Co. has announced its return to gluten-free oats across the range.
Renowned for its range of 100% natural, no added sugar, instant, plant-based porridge mixes, The Great British Porridge Co. has revealed its latest recipe upgrade, making its porridge accessible to all once more.
“We made the tough decision back in 2021 to stop using gluten-free oats due to supply chain issues, but we were always keen for this not to be a permanent decision. We have worked extremely hard to find a solution and two years later, we are delighted to announce our porridge is back to being gluten-free,” explains Matt Hunt, owner of The Great British Porridge Co.
The change will take place across the brand’s core range of naturally sweet and creamy porridge mixes, along with the seasonal favourite Apple & Cinnamon. It comes with a guarantee that there will be no change to the great taste customers have come to expect.
Hunt adds: “As a brand, we are committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible with our packaging. To reduce waste, all gluten-free packets will have a gluten-free sticker in the bottom right corner with updated allergen information, and are guaranteed to contain certified gluten-free oats.
“Whilst we make this fantastic switch back to gluten free, we ask our customers to be extra vigilant as there may still be some products in circulation with conventional, non-gluten-free oats prior to the changeover, which do not have this sticker.”
This change comes as The Great British Porridge Co. has also relaunched its limited edition Apple & Cinnamon porridge. Known as the ‘Winter Warmer’, this flavour is perfect for the colder mornings with real apple pieces, warming cinnamon and sweet dates.
