Vinoteket, the largest online retailer in the Swedish wine market, today announced that it has chosen SCAYLE as its new eCommerce platform to support business growth following its merger with Winefinder in 2023. SCAYLE will combine the retailer’s two brands into one unified backend to offer customers a highly customized multi-brand experience.
Vinoteket stocks close to 1,000 high-quality wines from around 20 countries, over 70 different regions and 100 grape varieties, delivering wine to customers’ doorsteps in Sweden and Denmark.
Following the 2023 merger, it is crucial for Vinoteket to create individual brand experiences for both Vinoteket and Winefinder from one global platform. SCAYLE makes it simple to move the two home-built legacy systems into a unified multi-brand commerce backend.
SCAYLE’s highly flexible and adaptable headless platform means Vinoteket will have the freedom to personalize its new websites to showcase each brand, delivering engaging, unique experiences. SCAYLE also provides the scalability needed for Vinoteket to expand into other brands and countries, as well as the upcoming launch of a mobile app.
The brand has already proven its commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences to wine connoisseurs with the recent launch of an AI-sommelier to walk customers through the purchasing process and provide personalized wine recommendations. SCAYLE’s wide range of out-of-the-box capabilities will allow Vinoteket to double down on these world-class customer experiences with little technical complexity and short time to market. For instance, it will leverage SCAYLE’s intuitive Product Information Management, Shop Management, Checkout, Order Management, and Digital Storefront to create a standout frontend experience.
In addition, SCAYLE’s subscription module will also support the expansion of Vinoteket’s subscription box service, which delivers pre-selected high quality wines to customers’ doorsteps, offering a highly convenient option for indecisive or time-strapped customers.
Vinoteket’s new website will launch 2025, setting the retailer up to seize the growth opportunity of a market that is – until now -– yet to reach a higher online maturity. Relying on the broad feature set of SCAYLE’s high-performance backend, the team at Vinoteket can focus entirely on adding value to wine enthusiasts with AI-guided shopping, mobile app, loyalty features, and continuously raising the standard of their shopping experience.
Anders Signell, CEO at Vinoteket, said: “It’s an exciting time for the online wine industry in Sweden and internationally. It was crucial for us to transform our website to take advantage of growing consumer awareness of eCommerce options for wine. SCAYLE will enable us to do this with a lean tech team and short time-to-market. We’re excited to be able to create engaging multi-brand experiences for our customers with ease. The potential for future expansion is limitless.”
Martin Kamphav, country manager Nordics at SCAYLE, said: “We’re delighted to support Vinoteket and Winefinder to capture the full potential of a largely untapped eCommerce market. Our partnership cements SCAYLE’s position in the Nordics, proves our strong market fit and our ability to cater for enterprise B2C commerce for players in the lifestyle vertical looking to provide outstanding customer experiences. We’re excited to see where Vinoteket will go next and to support them on the journey.”
Implementation of the new solution will be done by Helo, a digital agency and SCAYLE partner in the Nordics.
