Jordan 4Jordan 4 is the most popular trainer of 2024 a new study has revealed.

The research, which was conducted by King of Trainers and sports fashion retailer JD, looked at several metrics to determine which was the biggest trainer of the year.

The study compared three different data points across 31 of the most famous trainers, including those with the largest search volume, those, most appeared on film and TV and highest amount sold over the past year through an online reseller.

Each trainer was given a score across each metric, before averaging a normalised score across the three was totalled.

Across the three data points it was the Jordan 4 that came out on top, scoring 6.39 out of 10, with the trainer having moved up three places from fourth position back in 2023.

In second place was another from the world-famous Jordan brand, the Jordan 1 scored 5.90 out of 10 across the trio of data metrics and has slipped one place to second after being the most popular trainer last year.

In third was the adidas Samba which has enjoyed a big resurgence in 2024. The sneaker came tenth on our list in 2023 but ranked well across this year’s data points with a final score of 4.71 out of 10.

One of the metrics that JD looked at was worldwide search volume using Google’s Keyword Planner tool. On average over the past year, the trainer that is searched most worldwide is the adidas Samba, which accumulates 6.1 million queries per month!

This is followed by the Jordan 4, which has 5 million Googles a month.

In third place is another adidas offering – the Campus – which has 4.1 million searches each month.

What’s more, in addition to search volume, JD also analysed the trainers that have been on film and TV the most across 2024. In first place was Converse All Star, which had made 69 appearances in different films and TV episodes across the year, including in The Spiderwick Chronicles, Tarot, and Grey’s Anatomy.

Coming in second was Jordan 1 which was on screen on 42 separate occasions. Some examples of where Jordan 1 appeared included The Equalizer, The Forge, and The Boys.

In third place was Vans Old Skool which appeared 36 times, including Late Bloomers, Road  House, and The Marvels.

Furthermore, JD’s analysis also considered an online trainer resellers most resold trainers of the year. Looking at which trainers appeared most on Stock X’s top 100 most resold in 2024, the Jordan 4 again came out first with 12.

In second place was Jordan 1 with 11 appearances, and in third place was the adidas Campus with 5.
