Air Max 90 Ahead of Air Max Day 2025, new research has revealed that the Air Max 90 is the most popular franchise in the famous trainer collection.

In data compiled by JD – the King of Trainers – it was found that the Air Max 90 came out on top against several metrics, including Tik Tok videos, Instagram hashtags, Google searches, appearances in film and TV, as well as mentions in song lyrics.

JD ranked each Air Max trainer against the metrics before giving a total score out of 10. The Air Max 90 was first in four out of five categories and scored an impressive 9.65 out of 10.

This was ahead of the Air Max 95, which came first in one category and scored 6.28, followed by the Air Max 97, which scored 5.83.

On Tik Tok, where the research tracked the number of videos associated with each trainer, the Air Max 90 was number one with 37,900, followed by the 95 with 32,600, and then the Vapormax with 29,800.

Next up was Instagram where JD looked at the number of hashtags each trainer had. In first place again was the Air Max 90 with 1.5 million, followed by the Air Max 1 on 1.3 million, with the Vapormax in third place on 1 million.

Google search volume was the next metric analysed, and this showed that the Air Max 95 is the most searched, with 1 million every month, after this as the 90 on 823,000, followed by the 97 on 673,000.

When it came to appearances on film and TV over the past year, it was normal service resumed with the Air Max 90 first on six appearances, in joint-second were the 270 and 97, both on four.

Lastly, the research analysed Air Max mentions in song lyrics. The Air Max 90 was again first with 224 mentions, the 95 was second with 178, and the 97 was third with 114.
