TRACES Wine leads ‘Better for You’ revolution in Ireland with Tesco success and award wins

DrinkWell is thrilled to announce the phenomenal success of TRACES Wine in Ireland, following its launch in Tesco Ireland. In just 10 months and without dedicated category space, TRACES Rosé has soared to become the 10th best-selling rosé in Ireland for 2025 and ranks 7th in Rate of Sale. This remarkable achievement showcases the growing consumer demand for ‘better for you’ wines that align with modern, mindful drinking habits.

TRACES outperforms iconic brands

The rapid rise of TRACES Rosé is even more impressive considering it has surpassed well-known competitors like Kylie Minogue’s Rosé, Freixenet, and Whispering Angel. This success highlights a major shift in consumer preferences towards lighter, lower-alcohol, and lower-calorie wines, perfectly suited for today’s health-conscious and lifestyle-driven drinkers.

Award-winning quality & moderation trend leadership

Adding to the momentum, TRACES Sauvignon Blanc has just been awarded Winner of the People’s Choice Wine Awards 2025 in the Mindful Drinking: Light and Easy (ABV under 11%) category. Judges praised the wine for its fresh, balanced taste and its ability to deliver a premium experience while supporting moderation.

Consumer judge comments:

  • “Nice neutral wine for an uncomplicated mid-week TV night.”
  • “Approachable and light.”
  • “Good wine. Fresh and well-balanced.”

Trade judge comments:

  • “Lovely aroma and acidity. Very approachable. Could imagine selecting this and pleased with ABV.”
  • “Perfect for a nice picnic or BBQ with salads and fish.”
  • “Balanced. Dried fruits. Can’t tell this is lower alcohol.”

A leading force in the UK & Ireland

TRACES is setting the standard for the ‘better for you’ category across both the UK and Ireland, proving that consumers are not just open to mindful drinking but actively seeking lighter styles that match their lifestyle.

“This success is a testament to how consumers are embracing a new way of drinking – one that delivers on taste while also aligning with their health and wellness goals,” said Tom Bell, Founder of DrinkWell. “We’re incredibly proud to see TRACES outperform some of the biggest names in wine and drive the moderation trend forward.”

With strong growth, high consumer uptake, and industry recognition, TRACES is poised to become the leading name in mindful drinking, continuing to lead the way in both volume and value across the UK and Ireland.
