Hafiz Mustafa 1864, Turkey’s leading confectioner with over 20 stores internationally, is drawing on its 160 year history making luxury baklava and Turkish delight and capitalising on the trend for pistachio flavoured products.
The retailer recently opened its first store in London, opposite Harrods in Knightsbridge, which has been a huge success with queues down the street since opening.
The flagship London store offers an immersive experience that pairs Hafiz Mustafa 1864’s signature desserts with an elegant café setting. Visitors can indulge in a wide variety of traditional Turkish sweets, from hand-crafted baklava to luscious Turkish delight, along with a selection of gourmet teas and coffees to be enjoyed in the main tearoom or within one of the ‘hidden’ areas for a more private experience.
Hafiz Mustafa 1864 has long been celebrated for its heritage, artisanal craftsmanship and commitment to excellence. As an esteemed entrepreneur, Hafiz Mustafa’s delicacies were enjoyed by rulers in the Ottoman Palace and hold an esteemed role in the cultural heritage of the era. From winning 11 medals across Europe for his culinary talents between the years 1926 and 1938, the original baker’s formula for creating beautiful confectionary utilising time-honoured techniques is still in practice: using sugar cane instead of glucose, natural madders and natural fruit essences instead of colorants, ensuring the perfect balance of flavour and texture.
With a current global presence of 20 branches, the brand is targeting 45 branches worldwide by 2032. The UK operation is maintained by a 3,000sq m kitchen in Enfield where ancient recipes are followed to the letter for premium quality.
With restaurant and takeaway options, along with a world-famous Turkish breakfast menu available on weekends, the Knightsbridge store offers Londoners and international visitors a true taste of 160 years of Turkish culture.
