TGI Fridays is announcing a bold relaunch to the UK casual dining stage, unveiling what it calls the “ultimate comeback” with a re-energised menu and guest experience.

Launching across all 49 of its UK restaurants from 4th July, the iconic American-themed chain will debut its biggest menu refresh to date, with 50% of dishes updated and 70% of grill items reworked. The relaunch, which coincides with the brand’s 60th anniversary and U.S. Independence Day, marks a pivotal moment in TGI Fridays’ evolution under a leaner, more agile business model.

Strategic transformation post-sale

Following its acquisition in October 2024, the business underwent a significant transformation, including the consolidation of its estate and a renewed focus on operational efficiency. The brand now operates 49 restaurants and employs 2,500 team members across the UK.

Key improvements delivered over the last eight months include:

  • Streamlined operations, with a significant reduction in overheads
  • Improved like-for-like sales quarter on quarter since the start of 2025
  • Guest satisfaction above 90% for dish ratings
  • Stronger employee retention, supported by focused investment in training and team engagement during transition

Menu overhaul: Grill-centric, value-driven

The new menu is a standout moment for the brand at relaunch – designed to modernise the TGI Fridays experience while staying true to its Americana roots. It combines bold new flavours, greater customisation, and flavour-led innovation, alongside new guest offers focused on value.

Americana and bold new flavours
TGI Fridays has doubled down on its heritage with a line-up of bold, distinctly American tastes – from Maple Sriracha glazes and zesty Chimichurri to Pineapple Ketchup – designed to bring vibrant, adventurous flavour to every plate.

Customisation
Guests now have greater control over their experience, with new topping choices, side swaps, and upgraded build options throughout the menu – making it easier to tailor dishes to taste, dietary needs or occasion.

Innovation and newness
This marks TGI Fridays’ most ambitious menu refresh to date, with 50% of the dishes refreshed and 70% of the grill menu revamped. Hero dishes include:

  • Ultimate Texas Mixed Grill – inspired by classic American cookouts, a feast of ribs, rump steak and the new half roast chicken, served with plenty of sides: slaw, onion rings, mac & cheese, corn ribs and new Southern style BBQ pit beans- shareable indulgence and choice of sauces – great to share
  • Kansas Style Beef Short Rib – a slow cooked beef short rib with a smoky BBQ sauce served with mustard mash
  • Blackened Salmon – Cajun-spiced salmon fillet, freshly grilled and coast with Fridays™ Legendary Glaze, topped with sesame seeds and chilli flakes and served with mustard mash
  • Ham Hock Feast for Two – slow-cooked ham hock basted with pineapple ketchup and served with fries or mash, slaw, onion rings, mac & cheese, corn ribs and new Southern style BBQ pit beans- shareable indulgence
  • Grand Slam Platter – a sharing appetizer for four people loaded with a host of appetizers

All-new American Sandwich range
TGI Fridays is also launching a Signature Stacks sandwich line-up, featuring the likes of:

  • Loaded Hot Dogs
  • Classic Beef Dip Sandwiches
  • Chicken Finger BLT

Hearty, handheld and packed with personality, the range reimagines traditional American diner fare for a UK audience.

  • Mother Clucker burger – new crispy buttermilk chicken burger in collaboration with Mother Clucker who started out as the original street food truck bringing New Orleans inspired chicken to the UK

New sides including:

  • Southern style BBQ Pit Beans – slow cooked beans topped with BBQ sauce, pulled pork, maple glazed bacon and topped with pink pickled onions and crispy onions
  • Santa Monica Loaded Fries – fries topped with melted cheese, BBQ sauce, Pico de Gallo, pink pickled onions and jalapenos

New Americana desserts:

  • Key Lime Pie
  • Mississippi Mud Pie
  • Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake

Value-led pricing strategy
TGI Fridays has introduced everyday value without compromising on quality, including:

  • Appetiser Bundles: 3 for £18
  • Steak & Fries: £20
  • Free Kids Meals with adult purchase
  • Family feast trays: A sharing platter and burger & fries for four people for £20pp
  • Burger Bundle: Buy 4, get a Grand Slam Platter free

Combined with updated 2-for-1 cocktails and a streamlined digital-hybrid ordering system, the new offer is built to drive frequency and deliver better guest value across different parts of the day.

Reigniting the TGI Fridays experience

The relaunch also signals a renewed focus on the brand’s in-venue theatre and hospitality ethos, with select locations reintroducing photo booths, candyfloss machines and other entertainment designed to bring back the TGI Fridays “showtime” atmosphere.

Comeback celebration: Free return meal offer
To mark the relaunch, TGI Fridays is inviting guests to rediscover the brand with a special comeback offer. Diners who order from the new menu across the Independence Weekend (4th–6th July) will receive a voucher for a free return meal, valid for the rest of the month (Monday to Friday).

The initiative is designed to drive trials of the refreshed menu while rewarding loyalty and encouraging repeat visits – a key part of TGI Fridays’ renewed focus on value and guest engagement.

Looking ahead: Tech, formats & growth

The business aims to build on its strong Q1 momentum with continued investment in people, product and performance. Future priorities include:

  • A full tech stack overhaul to integrate systems and guest data
  • Segmenting restaurants into hero bars, family destinations and party-led formats
  • Expanding the brand’s footprint with new concept trials in both existing and new locations

Julie McEwan, CEO of TGI Fridays UK, said: “This is an exciting moment for TGI Fridays – a full brand reset that reinforces everything people have always loved about us. TGI Fridays has a rich heritage of bold flavour, high-energy hospitality and unforgettable celebrations – and we’ve gone back to those roots to bring that magic into a new era.

Over the past eight months, we’ve restructured the business, invested in our incredible team, and rebuilt our offer around quality, value and experience. These moves are about reigniting the spirit of TGI Fridays for today’s guest, with the energy, warmth and theatre that’s made us iconic for 60 years.”

TGI Fridays, reimagined – from July 4th

TGI Fridays’ new era begins Friday 4th July, with new dishes, new vibes, and new reasons to come back again (and again).
