Depop Depop, the community-powered fashion resale marketplace, announces new product innovations to empower the next generation of sellers. As more people turn their side hustle into something bigger, Depop is investing in features that make it easier to grow and succeed.

Key updates include an integration of enterprise-level AI photo editing tools through a partnership with Photoroom. Depop is also introducing flexible ways to boost listings, alongside features that provide deeper insights for shop growth and support larger inventories. Together, these are set to advance the resale shopping experience for millions of buyers and sellers.

Depop is the first major resale platform to embed Photoroom’s AI photo editing tools directly into its ecosystem – meaning its users can now access this previously paid service for free. According to studies, 75% of shoppers rely on product photography to make purchase decisions1. Creating consistent, high-quality visuals can be a time-consuming and costly challenge, especially for those just starting out.

Depop’s partnership with Photoroom enables sellers to instantly remove backgrounds, enhance images with drop shadows, resize assets for different settings and product types, and generate polished, on-brand visuals in seconds. The result? Faster listings, higher quality photos, more consistency and stronger shopper trust. With Photoroom’s tools embedded into Depop’s platform, sellers can save time, and elevate their overall imagery.

The feature has already received a great response from the Depop community, with over a million listings having used the photo editing tool. “Our community is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re always looking for ways to make selling easier and more rewarding,” said Sonia Biddle, Chief Product Officer at Depop. “We’re proud to be the first fashion resale marketplace to partner with Photoroom, enabling sellers to quickly create high-quality product photos that help their listings stand out. We’re listening closely to seller feedback as we continue to improve the experience and develop new features.”

Beyond visuals, Depop’s latest updates introduce a range of new capabilities to support the selling journey. Boosted items or listings are, on average, 25% more likely to sell2, and the new Boost Shop feature automates promotion across all current and future listings, saving time and reaching more buyers.

Depop sellers can now gain deeper insights for shop growth, by tracking progress and planning their next restock with the new Shop stats dashboard. This provides data on sales, potential earnings and total listings in one view, making it easier to make smarter business decisions, optimise inventory management and understand performance drivers.

Sellers can now list at scale, with ease as web listing has been improved to support larger inventories, offering more flexibility for different listing and selling styles.

Sonia Biddle adds “We’re not just adding features; we’re removing traditional selling barriers, making it easier and faster to create listings, and supporting our community to grow. This release helps users streamline how they sell, boost their visibility and better understand what’s working to free up more of their time.”

Over the past year, Depop has implemented a suite of AI-powered features designed to help sellers grow and buyers discover exactly what they’re looking for. These include predictive recommendations, smarter pricing suggestions, and enhanced search and personalization, designed to make selling on Depop faster, easier, and more rewarding.
