The Saucerer teams up with Grasso to bring its iconic creamy vodka sauce to stores across the UK

The SaucererIndependent gourmet sauce producer, The Saucerer has teamed up with family-owned Italian American restaurant, Grasso to launch a limited-edition creamy vodka sauce that can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home:

  • Inspired by Grasso’s family recipe, the iconic vodka sauce is designed for quick meals, and is ready to be stirred into your preferred pasta shape (we usually opt for penne — the classic!)
  • Unlike standard supermarket sauces, The Saucerers stir-ins boast high-quality, sustainably-sourced ingredients, and proudly contain no nasties. And every drop is made using 100% solar energy.

The sauce uses Sapling Climate Positive Vodka which is quadruple distilled from British wheat to enhance and balance the tomato, cream and spice

The 510ml jar of creamy vodka sauce is being stocked exclusively in Whole Foods Market this summer and online exclusively via DELLI only. From the end of August, the sauce will also be available in delis across the UK.

The sauciest collaboration of the year

Growing up, Tim Hillgarth, AKA The Saucerer, was taught to cook by his Italian-French mother, whose olive oil producing family hailed from Genoa, the home of pesto. Today, Tim specialises in gourmet pasta sauces, which are bursting with flavour, and made with high-quality, sustainably-sourced ingredients, containing no added nasties or preservatives.

Grasso is the family-owned London-based restaurant, headed up by Seanie, and was launched in 2024. Since then, it’s quickly become a Soho institution, famed for its perfect cheese-pulls, chicken parms, and penne alla vodka.

Having connected online, the pair have come together to collaborate with a creamy vodka sauce that’s ready to stir in, for a quick, easy, and tasty meal. Using Sapling Climate Positive Vodka, the flavour-packed sauce uses high-quality, sustainably-sourced ingredients. No ultra-processed nonsense, no preservatives, and no nasties.

On the launch of the sauce, Tim Hillgarth, founder of The Saucerer comments: “Having spent some time perfecting the recipe with Seanie and the Grasso family, I’m excited to launch the newest sauce in our collection. As with all our sauces, it’s made with high-quality, sustainably-sourced ingredients, and no nasties. And this is true for all aspects of it, from the organic coconut cream to the Sapling Climate Positive Vodka, and the 100% renewable solar energy we use in our production.

“Our creamy vodka sauce is perfect for those seeking a quick and easy, tasty meal — and is ready to stir into a pasta of your choice. You can find this, and all our sauces on The Saucerer website, at all Wholefoods stores, and shops and delis around the UK.”

Seanie Grasso, founder of the restaurant, Grasso adds: “Since opening Grasso last year, our pasta alla vodka has proved to be a firm favourite with customers — so it only feels right that people can now enjoy it in the comfort of their own home.

“It’s been great working with Tim, who like me comes from a family of foodies and grew up cooking with his mother. I’m a big fan of The Saucerer, and Tim shares our own values and passion for fresh ingredients and big flavours.

“For the authentic Grasso experience, serve The Saucerer x Grasso creamy vodka sauce with good quality, al dente pasta, a splash of chilli oil, and piles of freshly grated Parmesan.”

And here’s what it says on the jar:

“We’ve teamed up with Grasso: our favourite Italian-American troublemakers to bring you Grasso’s creamy vodka sauce. Inspired by the family recipe, it combines nonna nostalgia, a splash of booze & plenty of Soho spice in a velvety, tomatoey sugo. Pour it on pasta, do la scarpetta or eat it straight from the jar. Limited batch, unlimited attitude.”
