Plank Hardware co-founders set sights on global expansion as British interiors brand enters new phase of growth

Plank HardwareThe co-founders of Plank Hardware, the UK-born interiors brand, known for its design-led home finishing touches, have unveiled ambitious global expansion plans for 2026.

The B Corp-certified brand, co-founded by Tom and Annie Revill in 2019, has become a recognised name in the interiors sector for its modern cabinet hardware, lighting, and electrical accessories.

Following a period of strong performance during the “lockdown interiors boom” and subsequent steady trading years, the brand has achieved £20m in gross revenue, with £4.78m (24%) coming from the US market between February 2019 and September 2025. Building on this success, the brand is now preparing for global expansion and growth.

Plank Hardware’s 2026 growth strategy includes:

  • Further expanding into the US market with a renewed operational model

  • Diversifying across Europe

  • Growing its UK retail presence and strengthening its direct-to-consumer offering

  • Accelerating new product development across its key categories

They also want to engage with new customers, within a highly competitive and turbulent e-commerce market, through an omnichannel marketing approach.

To support these plans, Plank Hardware has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £300,000, giving investors the opportunity to purchase shares in the business. The campaign offers investor benefits and the chance to co-own an expanding, well-positioned British brand with a clear plan to lead its category globally.

Commenting on the brand’s ambitious growth plans Annie said: “We already have a good presence in the US, appealing to both D2C and B2B customers, but it’s crucial we expand there in 2026. Growth in the US market is incredibly challenging, but we have bold plans and see a real place for us in the American interiors market.”

The team also has a strategy in place to “crack” Europe. Tom said: “Europe is a key market for us as we approach 2026. We have recently re-opened shipping into Europe and have new products which we are excited to introduce to European consumers. Plank Hardware was born in England and both Annie and I are very proud and excited by this British brand’s global growth plans.”

The company was created on Valentine’s Day in 2019 by Tom and Annie who saw a gap in the market for high-quality yet affordable home finishing touches. The couple combined their two different skillsets to create the business. Tom has an entrepreneurial spirit which inspired his first business, selling fudge at university, which then led to selling the product at trade shows, before leaning into e-commerce consultancy. He also has a background in architectural engineering and is very much the creative influence behind the business.

Annie studied maths at Leeds University and has a commercially focused, analytical mind. She has recently returned from maternity leave, heading back into the business as the newly appointed CEO.

The idea for Plank Hardware was inspired by the renovation of Annie’s first flat. Tom comments: “When we started renovating Annie’s first flat, we focused on upcycling as much as we could to save money. I made furniture out of reclaimed wood that I had sourced, and the rest, as they say, is history. My DIY pieces got the attention of family and friends who began putting ‘orders’ in. To save time, I created flat-pack boxes. I designed and engineered the pieces but delivered them unassembled. During the final stages of the renovation, I found we were struggling to find finishing touches, like handles and hardware that didn’t cost the earth, yet didn’t lack in quality. Plank Hardware was born out of a need for beautiful yet affordable finishing touches for that first flat.”

As Plank Hardware embarks on its next chapter, the brand remains committed to thoughtful design, responsible production, and accessible quality. With a loyal customer base, growing international demand, and a passionate team driving innovation, Plank Hardware’s global expansion marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the British interiors brand.

The crowdfunding campaign opens to pre-registrants from Tuesday 28th October and to the wider public 48 hours later. More information on the campaign and investor benefits can be found on Plank Hardware’s dedicated crowdfunding page.
