Charles Tyrwhitt expands clothing donation partnership online, marking over £4m raised for the British Heart Foundation

Charles TyrwhittCharles Tyrwhitt is proud to announce the expansion of its long-standing partnership with the British Heart Foundation, taking its popular clothing donation initiative online from Monday 5th January 2026.

Since the scheme launched in August 2021, customers have helped raise over £4 million for the BHF and saved more than 80 tonnes of clothing from the waste stream, the equivalent of over 370,000 individual items.

The “Tyrwhitt Takeback” initiative, previously available only in-store and limited to shirts and suits, will now be accessible to customers across the UK online through a seamless donation’s portal. For the first time, donations can include any type of men’s clothing, footwear, or accessories from any brand – making it easier than ever for people to participate, even if they don’t live near a Charles Tyrwhitt store. To support those who engage with the initiative, Charles Tyrwhitt will provide a discount code to anyone who donates through the scheme.

Alli Swaine-Hughes, Chief Commercial Officer comments “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Charles Tyrwhitt, which since 2021 has raised over £4 million to help fund lifesaving research. Together, we’ve also made a positive environmental impact by diverting more than 84 tonnes of clothing from the waste stream and giving items a second life.

This year, we’re thrilled to be expanding our partnership with the launch of an online donation model, making it even easier for customers to donate their pre-loved items. Menswear is often under-donated, but thanks to the generosity of Charles Tyrwhitt staff and customers, we’ve seen a real boost in quality stock across our shops. Every shirt sold helps us continue our mission to save lives, and we’re excited to see this partnership grow even further.”

Joe Irons, chief sales and marketing officer, comments “The Tyrwhitt Takeback Scheme has already made a real difference, and taking it online takes it even further. It’s now easier than ever for customers to keep clothing in circulation and support the British Heart Foundation’s incredible work.

We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved together, with over £4 million raised and tonnes of clothing kept out of landfill, and this next step means we can make an even bigger impact. It’s proof that when good design meets good intent, great things happen.”
