Liberty is pleased to announce the appointment of Lydia King as managing director, retail, effective immediately.
Formerly Liberty’s group buying and merchandising director, King has played a central role in shaping the retailer’s buying strategy, leading teams across fashion, beauty and lifestyle to deliver a highly curated, design-led offer aligned with Liberty’s reputation for discovery and craftsmanship. In her new role, King will continue responsibility for Liberty’s Buying and Merchandising teams alongside the Liberty flagship store.
King brings extensive senior leadership experience across the luxury retail landscape. Prior to joining Liberty, she served as Fashion Director at Harrods, overseeing womenswear, accessories, shoes and childrenswear. She previously spent 13 years at Selfridges, where she held the role of Womenswear Buying and Merchandising Director, positioning the store’s global fashion proposition. Her career began in luxury fashion PR, shaping her perspective across brand building, product strategy and retail execution.
The appointment reflects Liberty’s continued focus on strengthening its retail leadership and evolving its offer for a modern, global customer, while remaining rooted in its heritage of creativity, curation and cultural relevance.
