Abu Bakr Supermarket Yorkshire supermarket chain expands its popular Food 2 Go range with affordable hot meals, snacks and drinks for school lunches and after-school dinners.

As thousands of children head back to school this September, Leeds-based Abu Bakr Supermarket has unveiled a brand-new range of affordable kids’ meals, with prices starting from just £1.50.

The new menu will be available from the Food 2 Go counters in every Abu Bakr Supermarket store across Leeds and Batley, with the family-run retailer saying the range has been created to offer quick, filling and value-for-money options for busy parents and schoolchildren alike.

The offer starts at just £1.50, with customers able to pick up two freshly made samosas for only £1.50 or a hot pasty for £1.50, making it one of the supermarket’s most affordable freshly prepared food ranges for families.

The launch builds on Abu Bakr’s growing Food 2 Go brand, which has become one of the supermarket chain’s fastest-growing fresh food offerings.

The new school meal range includes:

MealPrice
Two freshly made samosas (including vegetarian options)£1.50
One hot pasty (including vegetarian options)£1.50
Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala, with a choice of meat and vegetarian curry alternatives£7.50
Freshly made warm naan bread£1.00
Two cans of Coke or a selection of fresh juice drinks£1.00

The meals have been designed so customers can mix and match snacks, drinks and hot food, making the range ideal for school lunches, after-school meals or an affordable family dinner.

Abu Bakr Supermarket says the launch comes at a time when many parents are looking for affordable food options during the expensive back-to-school period.

Managing director Hamza Hussain said the retailer wanted to combine convenience with quality while keeping prices accessible.

“Back to school is one of the busiest and most expensive times of the year for families, so we wanted Food 2 Go to offer something that’s fresh, filling and genuinely affordable.

“Our new kids meal range has been created for busy parents and hungry children who want quality food without paying takeaway prices. Whether it’s a couple of samosas after school, a hot pasty on the go, or a Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala that the family can enjoy at home, we’ve made sure there’s something for everyone and every budget.

“The best part is that every single Abu Bakr store will now offer these meals through our Food 2 Go counters, giving customers the same great choice wherever they shop.”

The Food 2 Go counters are already a popular feature inside Abu Bakr Supermarkets, serving freshly prepared halal meals, bakery items, sandwiches and hot food throughout the day.

The new kids meal range will be available across Abu Bakr Supermarket stores in Queens Road, Roundhay Road, Dewsbury Road, Kirkstall Road and Batley, ensuring customers can enjoy the same freshly prepared Food 2 Go menu at every location.

With Abu Bakr continuing its rapid expansion across Yorkshire, the supermarket says Food 2 Go will remain a major part of its investment in affordable, freshly prepared meals for local communities.
