Demand for mopeds is rising as sales of the Yadea bikes have surged within just over a month of the range launching on AliExpress.
AliExpress says the OWIN, GFX and Keeness models have each sold more than 100,000 units, with stock now down to just one unit of each model. Availability is subject to change as orders continue to be placed.
The Yadea bikes will be available through AliExpress’ local delivery service. Eligible products ordered through AliExpress local delivery are expected to arrive within four working days, offering UK shoppers a quicker route to purchasing an electric two-wheeler online.
The surge in sales comes as interest in powered two-wheelers continues to grow. Data from the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) shows that 8,009 powered two-wheelers were registered in the UK in August 2026, up 17% from the 6,846 registered during the same month in 2025.
Electric bike registrations also increased, rising by 7.5% year on year to 272 in August, compared with 253 in August 2025. Although electric motorcycles and mopeds remain a relatively small part of the overall powered two-wheeler market, the figures point to continued interest in alternatives to petrol-powered transport for commuting, local journeys and leisure riding.
AliExpress says demand for moped-related products on its platform has reached the hundreds of thousands, helping to drive its decision to add complete Yadea vehicles to its marketplace. The initial line-up covers entry-level urban transport and a more powerful electric motorcycle aimed at riders seeking performance comparable with a conventional 125cc bike.
What the launch means for the market
Its new three-model line-up gives AliExpress a clear spread of price points and use cases. The OWIN and GFX are aimed primarily at short-distance urban mobility, while the more expensive Keeness targets riders seeking greater performance. At £6,548.28, the Keeness costs almost three times as much as the OWIN, highlighting the difference between a practical city scooter and a 125cc-equivalent electric motorcycle.
Eligible purchases will be supported by AliExpress’s Brand+ Best Price Guarantee. Under the programme’s terms, AliExpress says it will refund the difference if an eligible item is found at a lower price at major retailers, including Amazon, eBay, Shein or Temu, within seven days of purchase. Customers will need to check the programme conditions and ensure that both the product and competing offer qualify.
A customer who purchased an electronic bicycle from AliExpress took to Reddit to praise the impact that the bike has had on his daily life.
They said: “I bought this bike two weeks ago from AliExpress for £513 using a £60 off voucher.
“I have covered nearly 400 kilometres so far. I have been doing some UberEats deliveries on it and have nearly made back what I paid for the bike. I bought the back box for £9 from B&Q, and it even folds/collapses flat when I don’t need to use it. The battery is impressive. Today I rode 13 miles along the beach, 13 miles back, and it still had 3 out of 5 bars remaining; it’s 18.2 ah (amp-hour).
“I posted here a few weeks ago and I’m thankful for the replies as I looked for specific things before buying a bike. I was anxious about ordering from AliExpress, but it arrived within 4 days, the bike has 0 issues so far and I’m very happy with it.”
Finch Li, general manager of AliExpress UK, said: “We’re seeing more British shoppers turning to the platform as they seek premium items with better deals. Our enhanced Brand+ offering is a direct response to this shift.
“Brand+ guarantees verified sellers, reliable product quality and competitive prices. It also provides a worry-free delivery experience with free and fast shipping. Our promise to deliver trusted brands, unbeatable value and seamless convenience is a core part of our broader commitment to caring for consumers.
“As we embark on another year of serving hundreds of millions of consumers, our commitment remains unwavering.”
The rapid sell-through of the Yadea range therefore marks a significant step into the e-motorbike marketplace for AliExpress. If the service can combine competitive pricing and fast delivery with dependable after-sales support, it could help bring electric mopeds and motorcycles to a wider UK audience.
