AliExpress takes on Amazon as it boosts stocks of air conditioners as heatwave drives surge for cooling devices

With an intense, ongoing heatwave driving an unprecedented surge in demand for domestic cooling units, major retailers across the country have reported that cooling devices are flying off the shelves. This massive spike in demand for fans and air conditioners has hit global marketplace AliExpress in a big way, with the platform reporting a staggering 382% year-on-year increase in sales for cooling appliances.

However, while other major retailers and e-commerce giants are currently struggling to keep up with the summer rush, AliExpress has announced a major, strategic boost in its air conditioning stock. This massive supply injection comes at a crucial time for consumers, as the heatwave looks set to continue, threatening to bring record-breaking temperatures over the coming weeks.

While air conditioning units on rival e-commerce platforms like Amazon are currently listed as sold out or unavailable, AliExpress has successfully maintained a steady supply of premium cooling systems. Critically, these are backed by rapid delivery times, ensuring customers do not have to wait out the heatwave.

For example, at the time of writing, the highly rated Haier air conditioner is currently on sale on the platform for just £298.39. Originally costing £596.78, this represents a massive 50% saving for shoppers.

Customers ordering today can expect to receive the unit within just one to two weeks, with guaranteed delivery dates between 23 and 31 July.

This highly sought-after Haier model features smart Wi-Fi connectivity, eco-friendly energy-saving modes, and whisper-quiet operation, making it the perfect addition to any home or office looking to beat the summer heat.

Other high-performing air conditioners in stock with quick delivery times include the portable 4-in-1 12000BTU air conditioner.

This is currently AliExpress’s highest-selling air conditioning unit, boasting over 100,000 units sold globally. This powerhouse unit features an easy-to-use LED digital display, a 24-hour programmable timer, and a highly efficient cooling compressor that can lower room temperatures in just minutes. Designed for versatile, year-round comfort, the unit boasts an innovative 3-in-1 functionality that cools, dehumidifies, and circulates air with selectable high and low fan speeds.

An AliExpress spokesperson commented on the company’s preparedness: “We have built a robust matrix of products covering multiple consumer scenarios, including handheld, ceiling, standing, and neck fans.”

Resilient fan sales and stock levels

For those looking for smaller, localised cooling solutions, fan sales and stock at AliExpress have remained incredibly resilient despite the run on summer inventory.

Fan sales on the platform have grown 60% year-on-year, helped significantly by the popularity of the half-price XIAOMI Mijia portable desk fan. AliExpress has assured anxious customers that they have ample stock to meet a diverse range of cooling requirements.

“These categories benefit from strong price competitiveness and highly sufficient inventory levels, allowing us to continuously meet consumer demand even during peak seasonal spikes,” AliExpress added.

Shop with confidence: The AliExpress Brand+ Guarantee

To ensure customers get the best possible value during this challenging heatwave, AliExpress is offering its premium “Brand+” protection program. Customers purchasing eligible cooling products under this scheme can receive an immediate price match or a refund of the price difference if they find the same item cheaper on another reputable marketplace within seven days of purchase.

Furthermore, delivery times have been significantly optimised. Delivery in the UK now offers a rapid one to three days for local inventory, and as little as five working days for international, cross-border shipping.

Finch Li, AliExpress UK’s General Manager, said, “As AliExpress proudly celebrates its anniversary, we’re seeing more British shoppers turning to the platform as they seek premium items with better deals. Our enhanced Brand+ offering is a direct response to this consumer shift.”

Finch added: “Brand+ guarantees verified sellers, reliable product quality, and highly competitive prices. It also provides a worry-free delivery experience with free and fast shipping. Our promise to deliver trusted brands, unbeatable value, and seamless convenience is a core part of our broader commitment to caring for consumers. As we embark on another year of serving hundreds of millions of consumers, our commitment to reliability remains unwavering.”
