Glengoyne has released Teapot Dram Batch No. 12, the latest in its most sought-after series, bottled at 59.2% ABV and limited to 3,300 bottles. It launches on 8th October 2026 at an RRP of £125 and is available exclusively from the Glengoyne Distillery Shop and Glengoyne.com.
Every Teapot Dram is a non-age-statement whisky matured in first fill sherry casks, chosen for maximum colour and flavour and as a homage to the dramming days. Batch No. 12 is non chill-filtered and, like all Glengoyne releases, of natural colour. It is made from a handful of casks, including European oak Oloroso butts, European oak Oloroso hogsheads and sherry hogsheads.
The series celebrates a Glengoyne tradition from the 1960s and early 1970s, when distillery workers were given three drams a day. At most distilleries, the daily dram was new make spirit, barely matured in wood if at all. At Glengoyne, the staff were given mature, sherry dominant drams. Younger staff, unable to keep pace, would pour their share into a copper teapot on the canteen windowsill for their more seasoned colleagues to enjoy. Over the day, the teapot became full of a delightful marriage of different young, sherry matured whiskies. The practice ended in 1974, and the series carries its spirit forward in rich, sherry-matured releases made in the bold, full-flavoured style of the dramming days.
