Akeneo puts AI agents to work across product data with enterprise control built in

Reading Time: 4 mins read

AkeneoAkeneo, the agentic PXM platform that orchestrates trusted product data from source to buyer, today announced its Autumn Release 2026. The release introduces Readiness Policies, Product Compatibility, Enterprise Access & Security Governance, new Supplier Data Manager capabilities and Ziggy for Shopify, all built for enterprises whose product data operations have outgrown manual coordination.

Enterprises want AI to take on more of their product data work, and agents can now do it at a reach no team could match: enriching thousands of products, onboarding supplier data and publishing to every channel at once. That reach is exactly why control matters. When every change an agent makes is traceable and approved by the person accountable for it, enterprises can let agents do more, faster.

“After bringing agentic capabilities to Ziggy in our Summer Release, this release extends AI-powered automation and agentic workflows across Shopify, supplier data and product modeling. But as a leader in product data, we know doing more is not the whole job. When agents act on the product data that drives pricing, compliance and brand, they have to act under control. That is why every AI capability we ship runs inside a domain-specific AI harness, with the permissions, traceability and human approvals that let agents take on more of the work while teams stay at the helm of every decision,” said Romain Fouache, CEO of Akeneo.

Velocity: agentic capabilities from source to storefront

Ziggy, Akeneo’s agentic orchestrator, now works with Shopify to help teams prepare and publish product data to their storefronts. The Akeneo Shopify connector now comes in two editions: Standard, for deployments of up to three stores, and Enterprise, for organisations running many stores.

AI-assisted Product Model Suggestions help organisations create order out of their product catalog by automatically suggesting relevant groupings of products, helping teams build structure, repeatability and governance.

Akeneo Supplier Data Manager is augmented by a suite of capabilities that drastically reduce the overhead of working with suppliers: Supplier Collaboration and Supplier Catalog Management continuously turn supplier contributions into structured data.

As more product discovery happens through AI assistants and agents, governed product data is what those agents read. PX Insights now automates analysis of how products are discovered and how ready they are to be found by AI, and feeds those signals back into the product data.

Under the hood, improvements to product API and search scaling and to extensibility observability give IT teams a platform they can build on and monitor as volumes grow.

Control: who touches product data, and how

Every new AI capability in this release runs inside an AI harness, the same foundation behind Ziggy’s agentic capabilities: the permissions, context, orchestration and governance that let AI act reliably inside a system of record, rather than simply generate content. Ziggy works within the same role-based permissions as the human team, records every action as a traceable change, and proposes changes that a person approves before anything is applied.

New Enterprise Access & Security Governance automates the user identity lifecycle with Just-in-Time provisioning and SCIM. Authorised users get the right access through their corporate identity, and former employees lose it instantly. SIEM connectivity brings PIM activity into the enterprise’s security operations, with clear audit trails for compliance.

The same control now extends to supplier ecosystems. New Supplier Enterprise Security brings SSO and MFA to Akeneo Supplier Data Manager, and Transparent AI labeling identifies AI-generated content, so teams and channels can see what an agent wrote and what a person validated.

Governance: one definition of “ready,” enforced everywhere

Control decides who can act on product data. Governance decides what correct looks like, because agents are only as good as the rules they act on.

New Readiness Policies take product quality beyond completeness. Teams can precisely define what “ready” means for each of their channel, markets, or business objectives by combining rules on values, categories, descriptions and relationships. Each product’s readiness score allows teams to manage their product portfolio and prioritise their efforts.

With Product Compatibility, fitment rules can be defined in order to consistently link products, spare parts and accessories. Instead of managing nightmarish spreadsheets, new products become compatible automatically as the catalog evolves, and compatibility data is available through the PIM and APIs to every downstream system.

Akeneo acquires Dataggo

Akeneo has acquired Dataggo, a long-standing AI-native Akeneo partner specialised in PIM integration and services for enterprise customers. The acquisition strengthens Akeneo’s ability to deliver complex enterprise deployments and accelerate time-to-value, bringing deep experience connecting Akeneo to the systems around it.

Also in this release

The release also introduces Private Showrooms in Akeneo Digital Showroom and improves the event platform.

The Akeneo Autumn Release 2026 is available starting October 28, 2026. Availability of specific capabilities varies by Akeneo Product Cloud edition. More information is available at https://www.akeneo.com/seasonal-release/autumn-26/.
