Aperol Aperol, the vibrant Italian aperitif, is transporting a piece of authentic Florentine history to the bustling streets of London this festive season; with the launch of the Festive Spritz Window. Brits caught in the whirl of Christmas shopping are invited to embrace the Italian concept of ‘slow living’ by enjoying the moment with loved ones, through a stunning recreation of a Buchette del Vino.

The Buchette del Vino, or ‘wine windows,’ are an ancient, small, arched opening found in the walls of historic Florentine palaces, which were first used by noble families to sell wine directly to the public. Their visual appeal helped them hit the social media spotlight in recent years, with a 100% increase in searches YoY from 2024-25 alone.

With a distinctly joyful Aperol twist, the Festive Spritz Window is a nod to this enduring Italian spirit, offering a much-needed moment of pause and social connection amongst the chaos. This comes as research by Aperol found that over half of (53%) of Brits feel ‘frenzied’ in the run up to Christmas, blaming shopping for presents (33%), wrapping presents (25%), prepping food (24%), cleaning and house preparation (24%) as the top factors for the festive rush. Half (50%) of Brits long for moments of calm in the run up to Christmas, with over a third (36%) saying they don’t take a moment to pause until at least January 3rd.

With this in mind, Aperol’s Florentine inspired Festive Spritz Window is hidden in the streets of Mayfair, surprising shoppers so they can make a spontaneous stop and be reminded of the joy the festive season can bring. Aperol’s Festive Spritz Window will be open from 2nd – 4th December, between 5pm – 9pm, nestled away at St Christopher’s Place, Mayfair.  Shoppers are invited to ring the bell for a complimentary Aperol Spritz.

Loris Contro, Italian icons brand ambassador at Campari Group UK, comments: “Traditional Florentine wine windows represent an authentic ritual of connection. We want Brits to pause the frenzy, step into a slice of Italian history, and enjoy a vibrant Aperol Spritz with their friends and family. Our research shows half (47%) of Brits want to adopt this Italian spirit during the festive period, so we’re ready to bring a taste of the Italian life to them.”

Shoppers can enjoy a complimentary Aperol Spritz whilst enjoying buzzing festive cheer and the ambiance of Italy this December. Just ring the bell, and enjoy the moment.
