Global loyalty currency, Avios, has once again raised the bar in customer rewards, with the expansion of its newly launched online retail site, Avios Shop, offering members the opportunity to spend and save when shopping online.
In a landmark move, members of The British Airways Club will now be able to use their Avios to make savings on over 300 new products and travel accessories, with the opportunity to browse and order the latest goods from home thanks to the Avios Shop.
Launched this summer exclusively for Apple technology, the newly expanded store will now stock hundreds of products across 17 iconic brands, from Antler to Smythson, and more, with the range rotating seasonally based on demand and current trends.
Alongside traditional travel essentials such as suitcases, backpacks and sunglasses, Avios Shop will also offer accessories tailored to wellness on the ground and inflight, such as neck-pillows, eye masks, and beauty kits. Other highlights include Chilly’s water bottles, Stubble & Co bags, and leather goods from Aspinal of London.
Members will be able to reduce the cost of these must-have travel accessories by up to 25% of the overall price, by using their Avios to lower the cash amount payable, while also collecting Avios for their purchases.
With customers now able to choose between using their Avios to ‘check in’ for flights, or hit the ‘checkout’ when shopping, the expansion opens up savings to even more loyal customers who are shopping for the festive season and looking to bag a deal.
The Avios Shop is designed to give members even greater flexibility in how they use their Avios, complementing existing options such as flights, hotels and experiences, as well as purchases from online wine delivery service, The Wine Flyer.
Jack Smith, chief retail oAvios Shop fficer at IAG Loyalty, said: “To be expanding the range of products on offer at the Avios Shop so soon after its launch, signals the value this new proposition brings to our loyal customer base, and reinforces our aim of offering members even more ways to collect and redeem their hard-earned Avios.
“With many already starting to shop for the festive season, we are confident that the Avios Shop will transform the online shopping experience for many, allowing members to use their Avios towards gadgets, luggage, sunglasses, and more, to ensure they get the best deal and the best gift.”
IAG Loyalty, the brand behind Avios, will continue to evolve the Avios Shop to offer members the best experience when shopping online, while also giving exclusive access to the best deals with Avios. The move underscores the brand’s shift towards offering customers more ways to collect and redeem Avios alongside the travel ecosystem.
The full range of brands and products available to purchase through the Avios Shop, including the previously launched range of Apple technology, can be viewed and purchased via the Avios App or at www.avios.com/avios-shop.
