Better NatureWith the UK’s appetite for Peri Peri hotting up in 2026 (indicated by Nando’s scaling up its UK operations) Better Nature, the brand champion for supercharged protein, has extended its high protein, gut-friendly tempeh range in Tesco with the launch of a new Peri Peri Tempeh, targeting meat-eaters to ‘Give Chicken The Night Off’.

Landing into Tesco stores nationwide, the tasty New! Better Nature Peri Peri Tempeh is a supercharged swap for chicken, with more protein per pack than a chicken breast (44g of protein per pack) to liven up rice, wraps and stir fries.

Better than chicken, it’s also naturally packed with fibre and gut health benefits and is a source of iron.

Also rolling into Tesco is Better Nature Mediterranean Tempeh, which joins its award-winning Original Tempeh and Smoky Tempeh in the chilled aisle.

The launch coincides with a bold packaging redesign for the brand, which has a more natural look and feel, ‘3 steps to prep’ on pack instructions, and supercharged protein messaging to help shoppers make better protein choices.

Elin Roberts, CEO and co-founder at Better Nature, says: “With Nando’s fuelling the UK’s appetite for Peri Peri, our new Peri Peri Tempeh is tapping into the chicken shop boom, targeting meat-eaters who want more from their mealtimes.

Our tempeh is a brilliant supercharged swap for chicken as not only does it contain a mighty 44g of protein per pack, it’s also naturally packed with fibre and gut health benefits.

Plus, it can be prepped and cooked just like chicken – no need to learn new cooking skills.

This is reflected in our new packaging, which has a more natural look and feel, with dialled up supercharged protein messaging and clear ‘3 steps to prep’ instructions.

With Healthy New Year here, now is the time for shoppers to make better protein swaps and Give Chicken The Night Off!”

Better Nature New! Peri Peri Tempeh and Better Nature Mediterranean Tempeh rolls into Tesco from January 2026. RRP £3.00 for a 220g pack.
