Bloq.it and Vinted Go’s smart locker partnership expands to Spain and Portugal

Bloq.it, the smart locker company providing end-to-end services for logistics and e-commerce businesses, announces its expansion with Vinted Go, the dedicated logistics brand of Vinted Group. This latest phase of the partnership covers Vinted Go’s expansion into the Iberian Peninsula and represents a strengthened commitment by the Portugal-based Bloq.it to invest in the span of 3 years €2.5M directly into the Iberia region: by launching country managers, new facilities, enabling production capabilities, and opening several positions in these regions.

Bloq.it is already Vinted Go’s partner of smart locker hardware and software in France, where it has deployed over 5,000 parcel lockers throughout the country. Vinted Go’s convenient and cost-effective delivery solution and Bloq.it smart lockers technology will go live first in Madrid in mid May, followed by Lisbon later in the year.

Since 2019 Bloq.it has provided smart lockers for logistics and retail companies to safely ship and retrieve packages while providing smart software solutions that prioritize seamlessness and emphasize sustainability across the last mile.

Miha Jagodic, CEO of Bloq.it, said: “As a company founded and headquartered in Portugal, it’s particularly meaningful for us to support Vinted Go’s Iberia launch. We’re proud to bring our technology home and give users throughout these countries access to a smarter and more convenient way of sending and receiving parcels.”

The smart locker market is experiencing rapid growth, with over 19 billion parcels delivered OOH in Europe last year, a number expected to rise to 30 billion by 2028-2029. This shift is driven not only by convenience, but also by growing consumer demand for secure, reliable alternatives to home delivery. Smart lockers offer a seamless experience, allowing people to send and collect parcels on their own schedule, without the need to wait at home or queue at a post office.

Bloq.it’s technology is built to be software-first and courier-agnostic, maximizing efficiency and adoption without compromising on convenience. Consolidated deliveries and off-grid smart lockers minimize infrastructure reliance, cutting last-mile emissions.

Bloq.it lockers provide on-site label printing, secure drop-off mechanisms and real-time monitoring. The technology has been specifically designed to balance user safety and operational efficiency, with the flexibility of scaling across varied city environments.

For Vytautas Atkocaitis, VP of Vinted Go, after the successful launch in France, and in the Benelux region, he sees with great optimism the expansion of Vinted Go in other regions in Europe:

“We see vast potential for growth throughout Spain and Portugal. Our aim is to provide the most cost-efficient and convenient shipping solutions, making it easier for our members to trade second-hand items across Europe. This launch marks an exciting step in our journey, and we look forward to kicking off some new partnerships that will help us reach even more people and places.”

Vinted Go will continue to invest to make it easy and affordable to send and receive parcels in a less carbon-intensive way, ultimately contributing to Vinted’s mission to make second-hand the first choice worldwide. Bloq.it will play a strategic role in Vinted Go’s expansion throughout 2025, facilitating its goal of making less carbon-intensive shipping easier and more affordable.
