Buy one, get one tree: Sapling Spirits launches Christmas tree giveaway

Sapling SpiritsThis Christmas, conscious shoppers can raise a glass and grow a tree with Sapling Spirits. For every tagged bottle of Sapling Vodka purchased at Waitrose or Booths, customers will receive a free Christmas tree sapling to plant at home.

That means two trees for every bottle: one planted by Sapling Spirits through its global reforestation projects, and one gifted to the customer to grow themselves. With over six million Christmas trees going to landfill in the UK each year (McCarthy Marland), Sapling’s “Buy One, Get One Tree” campaign offers a festive alternative that helps replenish the planet.

Golden tree tags on Sapling Vodka bottles carry a QR code for customers to redeem their free tree. Saplings will be delivered directly in January, ready to plant, nurture, and enjoy for years to come.

A greener way to Celebrate

Sapling Spirits has always planted a tree for every bottle sold. This Christmas, the brand is going a step further by encouraging customers to take part themselves. By planting their own tree, families can create a lasting legacy, from a future Christmas centrepiece to a symbol of greener celebrations.

Co-founders Ed Faulkner and Ivo Devereux say:

“We would love customers this Christmas to not only raise a glass of Sapling but also plant a Sapling. It is a chance to give your family a living tree that grows with you, while doubling our collective impact on the planet. With Waitrose and Needle Fresh, we are making it easy to celebrate sustainably.”

Taking action together

To kick off the initiative, up to 30 Waitrose colleagues will join Sapling Spirits and Needle Fresh for a special Tree Planting Day, putting spades in the ground to honour the “tree for every bottle” promise.

The campaign runs throughout November and December in participating Waitrose and Booths stores. Customers who purchase a golden tagged bottle will receive their tree in January, the perfect time to plant for the seasons ahead.

How it works

  1. Buy a tagged bottle of Sapling Vodka at Waitrose or Booths.
  2. Scan the QR code to claim your free Christmas tree sapling.
  3. Receive and plant your sapling in January, ready to grow for the future.
